Called to visit for the beer festival, and had not been since Fantasy brewery festival days. Enjoyed the selection on offer and there was a good choice of new breweries too. The beers were in good condition, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

i was under the same impression as everyone else about Lloyds but when they were taken over in june last year by Julian Harkins a local licensee my opinion has completely changed. The once dire pub now contains 10 real ales, my favourite being JHB, these are on tap at all times. Now a regular haunt for not only real ale goers of nuneaton expect a friendly atmosphere and friendly bar staff.

Full of promise and I anticipated a great evening. WRONG!!!!!! Unless you are a 'regular' then expect to be treated as a second class citizen. Regulars seemed to be served before anyone else, bar staff gave a bored sigh when asked about the ales, like they've been asked a million times before. The gents toilet had a river of piss from a blocked urinal, and when mentioned to the (unhelpful) barman, his (brilliant)reply was 'I'm here to serve piss, not clear it up'. That comment alone did make the night in itself....apart from that, it was poor

I first visited this pub in October 2004 - it was great - lots of variety of ales to choose from - the place was buzzing with people - staff were happy smiley and knowledgeable of the ales on tap. - Very impresssed you might say - ALAS - I have returned several times over the last 15 months, at various times, and have to admit the welcome has deteriorated - only a handful of customers - no more happy smiley people behind the bar - take it or leave it attitude over the ales and definitely not the place to go anymore - what happened??? It took me over half an hour to be served and there was only two other customers at the bar.......What did I do wrong huh? Does not open all day either - not even a Saturday afternoon....!! Maybe I will just have to go somewhere else when I come to visit next time - Can anyone recommend a friendly ale house please?
