| Just missed my train and had 30 mins to kill before the next one so went along for a quick pint only to find it borded up. Not sure if it's closed for good or just being done up. Perhaps they are going to improve the Toilets ? Gann - 30 Sep 2008 12:32 |
| Station pub - overpriced and serves only a transient clientele. Beer ok at best. Toilets show which northern football teams have passed through in the last few years, as well as the names of their 'firms'. | I use this pub once or twice a year when waiting for a train. As everyone is transient you cannot expect much in the way of atmosphere. The staff are courteous but disinterested and the beer pleasant. I tend to watch the ever changing customers - there are some truly wierd people about! I was there on one of the few really hot days this summer and decided on a Magners over ice as a change. Despite a Magners ice bucket they only sell the less pleasant (in my view) Bulmers.
