This rural pub is the brewery tap for Bushys. It's a nice building. But it now seems to be more food-oriented than beer-oriented. Only 2 ales were on - Bitter & Shuttleworth Snap IPA. Stowford Press was the cider. The bar is fairly modern looking, whilst the dining area is slightly more traditional and extends out to a conservatory. We had a swift meal before heading back to the airport. The food was perfectly passable. A nice place. But the Bay in Port Erin was a far better option for sampling the Bushys range. blue_scrumpy - 5 Sep 2011 21:31 |
We stumbled on this pub by chance as it doesn't seem to advertise anywhere. It was a busy Monday lunchtime in April, catering to tourists who we discovered were mostly visitors on a Bushy's Brewery tour located behind the pub. The staff were friendly but stretched. The Bushy's Bitter was a superb pint and the chicken pie was huge and very satisfying. Overall, we enjoyed it and will return on the next IOM trip, but can't understand why the pub has no publicity and is likely to remain a secret for most visitors. boozyoldgit - 26 Apr 2010 21:39 |
Pub entered twice on site. Under Santon and Mount Murray. As it is beside Bushys brewery with Mount Murray address, I am posting here. Lovely pub with great garden seating area beside a couple of ponds. Food looked good, but we only sampled the beer. Enjoyed Bushys Helmsman. gillhalfpint - 26 Apr 2010 10:37 |
Nice pub in lovely location as described previously. Outdoor seating by ponds with wildfowl wandering about. Pub very popular with diners and there is only a small indoor area for non-diners. Buffy's brewery is behind the pub but the pub is not a brewey tap. Two beers and a cider on handpump on our visit. Beer kept well but very expensive. LittleFamilyFish - 27 Jul 2009 13:35 |
Great place to for eatting or drinking, friendly people,in a nice spot near the river & two ponds with ducks & Black Moar hens. Good choice of beers, the Bushy's dose not have to travel far as it is right behind next to the woods where you can go paint balling. Lots to tasty grub on their bar or evening menu, plus they have a Sunday roast to die for. They have only been open a few months since a refurbishment after the old lot left. Top pub with great grub man anonymous - 17 Jan 2007 09:11 |
