I notice it's more than a year since the last entry and longer since mine. Seems to have gone down hill a bit, lesser choice of beer, food not as good as it was. With the re-vamped Amsterdam across the road, The Red Lion needs to up its game! Ade.The.Raider - 11 Apr 2017 22:34 |
Rambling historic pub with extensive menu (lunchtime and evenings only). Three real ales from local microbreweries when we were there. Nice aroma of wood smoke throughout the pub from the real fire. Definitely worth a visit. simontheeditor - 20 Feb 2016 19:35 |
I usually visit the Red Lion 2 or 3 three times each rugby season on the way to watch Worthing play. Fantastic food as they offer a tapas style "any 4 starters for £10" deal, this is seriously good value! The beers seem to revolve round with Harvey Best being a regular. Last Saturday there was an amazing porter on from the relatively local Bedlam brewery based in Albourne. Already looking forward to the next visit! Ade.The.Raider - 24 Sep 2014 12:29 |
Enjoyed my afternoon here yesterday. Me and my sister had some nice food in the sun. Washed down with nice red wine. Service was good, and polite staff. Nice man with dog, said the beer was good. Definitely come back when in the area. rainbowian - 12 May 2012 13:07 |
Went here at lunchtime for food. It would have been good to be told that there would be a long delay when we ordered. On ordering our second drink, two other people were querying about when their food would arrive. The young barman was indifferent and could do with some customer service training . When our ploughmans arrived, 40 minutes later, they were poor, not worth 7. Won't eat here again althought the beer was fine. Zumo - 5 Sep 2011 09:26 |
