Food and beer both seem OK to me whenever I call in. Usually Brains Bitter and Reverend James on. Never too busy and can be deadly quiet midweek. Worst thing about it is the huge number of TV screens always showing sport (but thankfully without any sound). JimmyRibble - 2 Feb 2010 17:31 |
I think the posts below are now out of date. I use this pub when in Hereford and find no complaint with the beer, staff or service. Food is alright as pub food goes and delivery time ok. The Rev.James brewed by Braines is fine. Try giving this place another go. bee578 - 9 Mar 2008 14:14 |

Great pub. This is actually my local so the above reviews worry me. I've ate there many times and only once have ever had to wait longer than 20 mins for food - but that was a busy Xmas so understandable. The food, despite what others say is gorgeous. Especially the bacon burger though the recent menu change did loose a few of my favourites :( My only gripe is that the don't serve the menu on sundays - just do a carvery and I'm not really into Sunday Lunches. I'm not an ale drinker so can't comment on the Brains products problems above but always had a nice pint of Strongbow there! anonymous - 20 Feb 2006 01:15 |
Well the guy has no idea how to keep real ale. The Brains SA I was given this week(w/e 27-01-2006) was rancid and tasted like vinegar. So was the next pint, supposedly from a new barrel. So I went for a different pump - Brains Rev James - this too was undrinkable. Finally I got Brains ordinary bitter, which was OK. This is not the first time this has happened. Bloody awful place if you like real ale. Won't go back.Pity because Brains is usually brilliant. Will leave the pub to the lager guys who don't mind what they taste. dylan - 28 Jan 2006 08:46 |
