A vast improvement on it's former incarnation though it is more of a bar/cafeteria style than a pub. A few Windsor & Eton brews on and some others - ale was drinkable. Pretty much the only pub near Arnos Grove tube. Snarling_Mallard - 31 Dec 2018 13:02 |
I'm fairly sure that this was the first pub I've visited in N11. Situated nextdoor to Arnos Grove tube station, this is a large establishment with a modern but not unpleasant interior, which now serves real ales. The two ales were both from Redemption - Hotspur & Trinity. But there was also a real cider that I'd not had before - Snail's Bank Gooseberry Fool. There are plenty of craft beers too. Most of the clientele seemed to be families in for Sunday brunch. It was still morning on my visit. So it was probably not the most representative time. But there was only one other drinker. I'd definitely come back here though. Moved on from here to the Little Green Dragon in Winchmore Hill and the Prince in Wood Green. Neither are listed on here. But they are recommended. So I will request their addition. blue_scrumpy - 24 Sep 2018 20:41 |
All though this Pub is only around 400 yards from where I work this is only the second time Ive been in here in about the last ten years. Theres no Real Ales or decent Beer and its more just a cheap food Pub It has no atmosphere what so ever even the staff look as if they don't want to be there very boring & dull. It seems a sad waste of a good Pub too me. I used too go in here regularly in the 70s & 80s when it was a brilliant Pub it had three separate Bars A large Games Bar Room with Darts Pool Snooker Etc a Saloon Bar & Public Bar Now theres absolute nothing worth going in here for. Only good point is its near the station for a quick get away. Alesonly - 1 Jun 2010 20:11 |
This place feels as though it has been split with the front, which is the vast majority of the building, being solely for diners and the poky back has more of a pub feel. In the rear there is a sofa and a few tables and chairs. I had to move from the table that I originally sat at because the long chair running across the wall was taller than the table and was extremely uncomfortable. There is a door leading to a tiny concreted outside area with a couple of benches. This backs onto a large car park so I can only imagine it being designed for smokers to have a quick fag because I dont know anyone that would want to spend to long out there. A few lagers were on offer along with Greene King IPA Smooth and Tetleys Smooth. The barman was friendly enough and my pint of Carling was 2:15, but Id rather pay the extra for a descent pint that wasnt tangy and that I could finish. To top it all off the music was terrible and it was almost empty. I will definitely not being drinking here again. Strongers - 9 May 2008 11:41 |
Only good Point is its next to Arnos Grove tube Station. The Food & Beer was not very good and the service was extremely slow even though it was a very quiet afternoon. Alesonly - 18 Feb 2008 01:41 |
