There are currently four (soon to be five) Wetherspoons in Southampton. This is neither the worse nor the best. It is the typical long narrow set up, meaning the only natural light is right at the front near the front door where the smokers congregate. There's no atmosphere or character, but there are pillars in the main area which break up the view so it's not just a plain empty space. Generally does between 6 and 8 casks. Fairly average all round. SilkTork - 28 Nov 2016 10:17 |
Popped in today (Saturday 3rd April), good service, ale in excellent condition and the food was brought to the table in edible condition and in good time. No teetopmetz, I'm not a member of staff or even a local, this is just how I found the place today. Nigethebeer - 3 Apr 2010 15:32 |
The 3 reviews on the 7th June are nonsense, I can only assume these were posted by the management. This is one of the worst pubs in Southampton. If you have your benefit to spend then come here. This place is full of council estate chavs and unpleasant lowlife. Just don't bother, there are plenty of real pubs in Shirley. teetopmetz - 17 Jan 2010 21:58 |
For service, this is easily Southampton's worst Weatherspoons. Always understaffed, no matter what time of day it is. Avoid. NB33 - 22 Sep 2009 00:50 |
This pub had had a complete turnaround recently, it's now a great place to go to have a few cheeky drinks on the way into town, wine and cocktails are both a good choice! Also really great for chilled out breakfast on a Sunday too. All in all the new place to go to start the night and recover the next day. allaboutcider - 7 Jun 2009 19:22 |
