This place is no longer a Wetherspoons. I know some may shed a tear on here! It's still open but the new owners are Stonegate. More of a focus on live sports and cheap drinks now. Caskales - 3 Dec 2019 07:54 |
My friends and I were disgusted with the availability of the "roast half chicken" on chicken club day and it was only 5pm. when we ordered. The leaflet stated served until 11pm that was a lie as there wasn't any left. So we chose the "boneless chicken breast" very nice but it looked nothing like the picture in the leaflet, no lemon wedge-and don't mention the chips-I didn't need to use my toes as well to count them, my fingers were too many, 8 chips! again nothing like the leaflet. No one came to ask if everything was alright either. We are not usually the complaining types so the three of us said nothing but just placed this wetherspoons on our ever growing list of their pubs never to eat in again. The bar service could have been faster as well. Allan_gas - 29 Aug 2015 11:13 |
Uninspiring JDW pub. Small - by JDW standards. Service was average, while ale quality was disappointing - especially as the pub is 'Cask Marque' accredited. 4/10 - there is better in Hyde! wobblybob - 9 May 2014 19:37 |
Reasonable 'Spoons' situated behind the market place. I had a pint of Robinsons Marathon Runner which was in good condition. Crooked_Canary - 3 May 2013 07:30 |
Went in The Cotton Bale last Saturday night. Had a pint of Elland Brewery Maximum Darkness, which was a dark beer and very good. The pub was quite busy but we got served no problem! Overall, not a bad Spoons at all. DoctorBarfly - 19 Jul 2012 21:36 |
