Haven't been in here for some time (several years). Visited Friday night with a couple of friends. About 20 people in and we got a funny look when we walked in. Barmaid very inattentive. Not very welcoming especially as it was a Friday night and not very busy - barman had mobile phone constantly clamped to his ear. No real ale had to make do with Boddingtons (which wasn't too bad at £2 pint) Karaoke night. As prospective new customers we should have been welcomed a little better.- very cliquey pub. Think very carefully before coming here again tankard - 6 Sep 2013 23:47 |
Not so bad since its refit -- still no real ale so make do with Boddingtons on keg. Dj and Karaoke which was entertaining - one or two quite good singers really. rainlight - 3 Jun 2013 19:58 |
Have been here twice in the past 12 months, both times on a Saturday night (the second occasion only for about 30 minutes). And it was the sort of place Son of Odin is wise to avoid. There was loud crap reggae, loads of tarty daughters out with their tarty mothers and blokes playing pool or the boxing machine (a sort of electronic punch bag). They were prabably getting ready for the 3am free-for-all. I think you get the picture. wbafc_beer - 16 Sep 2011 23:13 |
My taxi took me past here well after midnight last Saturday, and what I saw will probably explain why I've never been brave enough to venture inside despite the fact that it is probably the 4th nearest pub (and less than 15 minutes walk) from my place. As the taxi got within 200 yards I could see a blue flashing light, when it got closer, there were loads of police cars, an ambulance, the sound of barking police dogs and all of the customers hanging around outside. Needless to say, I'll continue to give this place a wide berth. son_of_odin - 1 Mar 2011 12:30 |
