Footy was on big screens when we got there,so was busy. A couple of handpumps on. Standard ale. Didn't find owt special about it,but worth a visit going round Sheffield. banter with locals was friendly enough.

No Ale, Loud Sport On TV, Loud "Louts",Shame as decent'ish building,4/10

this pubs a real shame... lots of potential, but needs investment. beer is not good!!! foods cheap, and the screens are some of the best in the city centre as far as live sports go in sheffield
|
Your only reason to go in here would be to watch live sport as there aren't too many other places in the city centre that do. Other than that it is poor - devoid of character, grubby and with nothing of interest on offer to the discerning lager or ale drinker. Give it a miss.

Extremely scummy - do not put anything down, IT WILL GET NICKED.

Dire execuse for a pub. Avoid at all costs.

Big pub in a nice building, but unexciting choice of beers and little atmosphere. Reasonable choice if you want to watch sport in the city centre.

We are a bunch of Saints Fans who went to the Pub Before a match in Sheffield.
Nothing special. Loads of footy screens.
One positive was that the food was basic but edible and cheap...2 meals for 6.95.
The one and only real Ale was truly awful. I used to run pubs and I know what the smell and look of recycled beer is like. The landlord changed it without a question, which was good of him... but he did not look at the pint or say anything at all... which says to me; that it was not a surprise to him that it was bad!
Not a pub I will return to when we are back for the Sheff Wednesday game later this year.

Great place to watch sport and have an afternoon pint. Food is good as well. Only one real ale is served which is why this pub didn't get full marks!!
|
It's OK. Nothing special, though roomy and great for watching the football.

A great building (an old bank) but wasted on a mediocre pub. nothin terrible about it, but (attractive) bar staff hsd no idea how to serve a drink that wasn't in a bottle. Was a much better place under it's old guise (the refectory?) and on a weekend match days is populated by the kind of burly, shaven-headed, designer label wearing crowd you might expect to be involved in some kind of naughtiness at football. The common room(division street) is a much better alternative.

We love old monk! Great place for watchin sport n havin a pint with ur mates after work! See u in there

Went here for dinner on a friday afternoon, this place played ok music and the food was acceptable and 2 for 6.95 so not too expensive. The cracked window pains near both entrances were slightly offputting but it was, at least on a friday afternoon, much less of a chav pub than I thought it was going to be. 5/10

Pretty cool - the abundance of screens make this a good place to watch sport.
