Agree with most people about this place, ok to pop in before the train, pretty featureless inside so lacks a bit of atmosphere.

A good old fashioned 'spoons and not the modern version that is popping up in towns and cites around the country.
I understand this is one of the best offerings of ales in the Worcester area and I'm not surprised, with 12 pumps offering 1 cider and 9 ales currently on tap this is a decent and varied selection.
My pint of Saddler's, Mud City Stout @ 6.6% was a belter.
I much prefer the old style 'spoons as they just have more character.
Well worth the visit and of course it's very handy for Foregate Street station.

Located next to Foregate street station, a typical wetherspoon pub.
With so many better options located in Worcester, I do wonder why people bother with this place.... unless it is to make their pensions or DSS benefit money last a bit longer.

One of the better JD Weatherspoons. Had a decent meal and the range of ales was good and well kept too. They were not happy with the children being in unless we ate but as we were eating it didnt matter. Big building very close to Foregate station, the ideal place to go before catching your train! :)

Popped in last month as part of a crawl - took the opportunity of getting some food in, but the ales we tried were in good nick and a bit out of the ordinary.A better than average JDW pub.

Huge JDW converted from a telephone exchange. Theres a long bar in the main room and a smaller room to the left. When we visited there was also a bar set up on the left which was going to have some of the festival beers on stillage. There are 10 handpumps on the bar and as they were having their own Halloween beer festival there was a decent selection of spooky brews on. I had 2 beers from Blackwater Darkness and Voodoo both were very good. One of the better JDWs in our opinion as the beer was good as was the service.

Enjoyed our visit today as it is one of the better Spoons pubs, and always seems to have intersting guests on. Enjoyed Festival Emerald and Malvern Hills Green Pear this visit - both new beers for me, and both in excellent condition. Service good and it was clean. They do deserve their 2010 GBG status. There is a lot of activity planned for the start of the Spoons fest on 28th with fancy dress and meet the brewer set ups over the course of the day. We were told beer is to be served from the casks too.

A couple of recent visits to Worcester meant couple of visits to The Postal Order and thats a good thing. I really like this pub, its not going to be everyones cup of tea, but it ticks all the basic boxes. This pub is in the 2009 Good Beer Guide (havnt checked out 2010 yet) and it deserves to be. On the ocassions I've visited there have been between 4 and 6 guests plus Abbot Ale and Pedigree, oh and that crap Ruddles. The guests have always been interesting and in good condition. This is a old skool Wetherspoons so it is quite dark in there but saying that its clean and well presented. My only critisim is the toilets, when you use them its like being sent to the dungens. There clean and in good order but there down some dark stairs near the front door and when your down there you feel cut off from the rest of the world, ok maybe thats a bit OTT but they do let the place down. Makes me want to slap the designer Wetherspoons used. Otherwise a great ale pub.

A standard spoons with the bar as one large and one smaller room. Family dining area at the far end. The couple of times I have visited it always appeared busy and the beer has always been good. Not sure of its night time reputation as I prefer Worcester during the day. With the bar on one level and easily accessible disabled toilet its fine for wheelchair users.
|
Not a bad Wetherspoons, I ususally find a quiet corner (with some exceptions), the beer range is good and at 1.75 a pint its cheap, even for a Wetherspoons!
|
Still good on last months visit. Best quality and selection of spoons ale I know anywhere in the land. Reasonable service.
|
Had only 20 mins in Worcester and I know its a heresy to miss the Dragon Inn when here but this wasn't by any manner of means the worst spoons around. The beer range was excellent with Marstons Old Empire and Abbot Reserve on for my beer monster mate and the somewhat lighter Bitter'n'twisted on for me. Service was with a smile despite the place being nearly full. Had 2 pts in the time it would take to get served one in a lot of pubs, let alone spoons! Khazi's were fine. Well done. Ps-the pizza from over the road was rubbish!

Great location next to station, OK
|
Yup it is a standard JDW pub boasting it's entry in GBG08. We used it as part of an exploratory crawl around The Faithful City and this was our worst experience by far. We actually left the beer and moved on. If you want MacDonalds with beer then this is for you.
|
Enjoyed my visit yesterday as there was the best choice of Wetherspoons beer festival beers available thay I have seen so far. All those I had were in excellent condition. Well done.
|
Visited twice now and a better than average spoons ale selection was available both times, 8/10
|
Not one of the gems of the Wetherspoons estate in my opinion but has a decent location near to Foregate St train station. Standard JDW fayre with a decent range of guest beers and plenty of space to enjoy them
|
Always worth a visit when in Worcester. Ususally a good choice of guest ales when I call in.
|
Ok for a Wetherspoons. Usually have at least four guest ales. Ideal for the train station.
|
Very good service compared to my local spoons, bit scruffy but ideal for a quick pint, right next to station.
|
anyone remember alistair and ash? wish i could get hold of them, they worked here with me in 1999. with love from south africa... Tronell
|
Cavernous single room with cheap beer from the odd local micro.
Average food.
|
The beer in this pub is extremely cheap, and it's a relaxing place to be in the afternoon, although the customers can be a bit of a put-off. This seems to be the warm-up pub to the jobcentre.
Excellent smoking and non-smoking facilities though, and they do fantastic fish and chips.
|
Pretty much what you'd expect for a Wetherspoons, but service is above average for the chain (I've had some pretty unpleasant experiences in other Wetherspoons). Handy for Foregate Street station.
|
The second worst toilets in Worcester.
(For 1st see RSVP)
HOWEVER, if you like cheap drinks, microwaved food and eavesdropping on a good drunken row, this is the place to go when your giro comes through on a Thursday. (Handy if you've missed your train though!)

Great place to relax, mellow atmosphere, prices are obscenely cheap. No music or video screens, plenty of seating. No prententious dress code. If you want a few drinks with friends you can find a seat and hear yourself think here.

This is a witherspoons pub right in the middle of the city next right by Foregate Street railway station. The beer is cheap and they have a wide selection. Food is served also. It is very popular with the locals and visotors particularly on race days as the racecourse is only a short walk away.
