Visited The Ram during the Lions Tour of South Africa because everywhere else was showing Wimbledon despite displaying Sky Sports. Great welcome from staff and locals. Good banter over the rugby whilst having a pint or two. Food was okay - basic chain-pub usuals - and very cheap (starter, steak and a pint was less than 10). Pub has several different areas, most with TV screens so I found it easy to get away from family area. Stay in Nottingham most weeks on business, so will go back again.

Went into this pub on a recent Saturday hoping for a pint, watch the footy and some conversation. Inside there was childrens birthday party complete with deafening disco. Lots of toddlers in push chairs with their Mums. Everyone was screaming at the top of their voices to be heard, even trying to talk to the person next to you. Nothing against kids parties but there are surely more appropriate places? The landlady no doubt is trying to explore ways to make a living in a difficult time for pubs, but if this is the future you can keep it.

I have been to this place twiceand throught the food was crap the coleslaw came out warm and they totally messed the orderup at the bar and the waitress demanded the extra money from us. I wanted to speak to the manager but the girl at the bar said i dont know were he is so we just left. Its a real run down dive and needs new management and staff who care about the customers.
