Great choice of real cider, it's a weaterspoons, does what it says on the tin, as they go it's nice. Thank god for Tim Martin on holiday head for his pubs you will ok.

Nice enough Wetherspoons, pub, which has some art-deco touches in keeping with its history. Perhaps not the best of this chain, it is better than a lot. The beer choice was reasonable with several from local breweries in the Lincolnshire area. They could have had more bar staff working as getting served was a challenge but overall, not a bad place.

Large Wetherspoons not too far from Lincoln station. Presumably it used to be a cinema or theatre. The beer selection was good - Ruddles Best, Tom Woods Melton Mild, Bath Gem, Newby Wyke England Expects & Wychwood Hobgoblin. But we all went for ciders, of which there were 8 - Mr Whiteheads Plum Cider, Sandford Orchards Devon Scrumpy, Gwynt y Ddraig Welsh Gold Perry, Thatchers Perry & Cheddar Valley, Cornish Orchards Vintage Cider, Gwynt y Ddraig Farmhouse Scrumpy & Sheppys Raspberry Cider.

A large Wetherspoons pub on the main road in to Lincoln. The long front part of the bar facing on to the street has some fold back windows, which whilst giving plenty of fresh air doesnt offer much in the way of an attractive outlook. Up a few steps to the main part of the pub, and the long bar counter running almost the entire length of the back wall.
It looks as though its been here for a few years, and is starting to look a little tatty around the edges. Nothing too serious, but some of the upholstery is looking a little threadbare. Theres plenty of wood panelling on the walls, and several book cases around. There are also some art deco touches around the place which presumably hark back to its former life as a theatre. In a further nod to this, there is a listing of the acts that appeared here in 1985, and a number of black and white photographs of the actors adorn the walls.
There were a few plasmas dotted around and several fruit machines. The condom machine in the gents loo also dispensed tic-tacs which I thought was an odd combination. A barrel perched on a table and a couple of hay bales advertised a forthcoming cider festival. There is a small courtyard off to the right for the smokers.
Beers were a fairly predictable JDW range Abbot Ale, Ruddles County, Directors, Everards Tiger, Hobgoblin and Midsummer Madness. Ciders were Thatchers Gold and Strongbow.

Visited once and never again! Busy lunchtime and 'Spoons economising as usual by having only 2 bar staff working their thingies off trying to keep pace with the thirsty hordes. Average wait to be served around 12 minutes. Then, on return from one trip to the bar, found some scumbag had knicked my glasses case. Though they had had the good taste to leave the specs behind - a quid from Poundland.

This is a JDW converted from an old cinema as the name suggests. Its probably the best of the 3 JDWs in Lincoln as it always has a good selection of guest ales and a decent atmosphere. It has the usual problem of not enough bar staff though.

Called for tea late afternoon last saturday on a visit to lincoln. Its a large building sat on the high street. A good walk from the main shops and cathedral. Neon Ritz sign displayed. *** inside, it consists of a street level frontage which leads to a higher, split-level interior. This is a much larger room, and contains the bar. The decor is similar to other jdws, but also has some 1920s art-deco style furnishings, and similar style window patterns. *** The usual jdw menu applies, service was quite prompt even though fairly busy, and the food was presentable. 12 good cask ales on pump here, which I thought was quite good. *** verdict : fairly standard jdw. competitively priced food & drink, plus real ales. a 7 from me.

Good beers..interesting memorabilia...friendly staff...sure my comments would be different later at night..but you know what to expect with Wetherspoons!22

Worth a trip for the memorabilia from the days when this was a theatre. Signed Johnny Cash pic hanging on the wall. How cool is that?

Frequently has empty beer pumps. it can the 4 different pumps to get 3 pints. Staff at night cannot change barrels. Food Microwaved by whoever draws the short straw. This place shound never have been given its cask mark. A wast of a good Cinema and Concert venue.

Nice Building,Nice Beer,Well Done Spoons Once Again! 8/10

The staff are a delight, friendly and so much more intelligent to talk to, than the average customer. they offer care in the community with customers spending the day ,drinking & eating. Great for pensioners on limited budgets and they open early for breakfast be it food or alcohol. A great all rounder.
But please can the food ALWAYS come out hot
