Great spot - second oldest pub, in this ancient market town. Refurbished. Food excellent, beer good.

Closed. Future, uncertain.

Located at the far end of South Street, this a fairly small Fullers pub. This is a 1 room lounge pub with the bar located centrally and a pool table at the far end. Usual range of Fullers ales. Reasonably comfortable and worth a visit.

This has to be the worst pub in Dorking. Friday / Saturday night, fighting, screaming, shouting at 1 in the morning the owners don't care how the costumes behave when they leave the pub. I've been staying with friends and I feel sorry they have to live next to what I can only describe as a run down dirty hovel . The council should close it down, until the brewery refurbish and change the landlord , no late licence and no UNDERAGE drinkers or serving to people who re already drunk when they arrive .

A very welcoming pub serving excellent ales. The juke box is the main feature with the most amazing selections going back to 1952. Food is of a very high standard with a specials board updated every Monday. Finally the ESB is in absolute perfect conditon. This pub maybe on the outskirt of the town but is worth a visit to this 1800's ex coaching inn.

Nice pub, good ale and lager, friendly staff ,opens 11am , ideal stop for pensioners on a lunchtime pub crawl.

Spot on TWG...a lively pub with a youngish crowd (30s?)...nice and loud jutebox, 3 a pint for Chiswick which was kept well and tasted good...
If up for a laugh, probably the best place in dorking...if out for a quiet romantic drink, then best to avoid...
definitely go again

I am bound to say that I tend to agree with the last comment. The Queens Head is, by most measures, unremarkable, and this isn't helped by there being 2 other Fullers pubs further up the same street (both of which are arguably smarter than the QH). That said, I would perhaps rate this pub as having a greater sense of natural atmosphere than either of its more well-heeled peers. It is down-to-earth, unpretentious, attracts a slightly more "gritty" brand of Dorkingonian, yet it remains friendly to non-locals and is clean. Also, in my experience it is doing better business on the early shift of a standard Saturday night than either the Bulls Head or the Cricketers. It's the sort of boozer where one doesn't mind whacking on some loud music on the jukebox, watching a bit of sport (which unlike some pubs doesn't seem to intrude here) and possibly even playing a few games of pool (bear in mind I don't normally feel inclined to do that - it's just something about this pub!). It all adds to the general feeling of relaxed enjoyment that I always find here. Oh, and for those who are worried that I've taken my eye off the ball, I can confirm the ales always seem to be kept well too (very sessionable Chiswick). The beer still always comes first!

Unremarkable, and just far enough away from the town centre for passing visitors to be something of a novelty. However, friendly enough and the Chiswick was in good condition.

Under rated. I have no idea why this pub does not attract that many customers. It is a nice venue where the people in charge really make an effort. Happy going here again.

I really like this pub - nowt special - just nice beer, nice locals and friendly staff

One of the most underatted pubs in dorking. Has a good mix of age groups, with a good number of mid 20, 30 somethings.
Very good and efficient staff, who clearly know what they are doing. Something of a rariety in Dorking these days. While the beer is well kept, if a tad pricey.
Two dartboards, cheap pool table, fruity, and a jukebox ensure that there is always something to keep you entertained in the pub. if not, staff are pleasant to chat to.

Pleasant enough place - nice to see 2 Fullers pubs in Dorking - but rather unremarkable and not one of my favourite Dorking pubs. Cant seem to make up its mind what its target customers are - there are nice horse brasses, as though its a country pub, but a loudish jukebox and 2 dartboards would appear to be aimed at the younger less discerning clientele.

Bar staff are nice here, though there isn't a lot going on in this pub. Not as good as the nearby Cricketers

Not a bad pub... good selection of beer and lager. Has a pool table and a jukebox which constantly plays The Darkness! Bit of a lad's pub and when the football is on, forget about getting a seat. All in all, not a bad place, although, the pub could have more ventiliation for the non-smoker, like myself.
