12 bar isn't closed. Still a live music venue, with probably the widest variation of music in town. Not often I frequent the place but that don't make it bad.

Long live The 12 Bar.
Live music and/or comedy, not an ideal location but worth a visit (just watch out for those bar prices).

well this place has had a serious facelift!!! even the name has changed to the 12 bar. got lots of good things going on, great bands and comedy club (and thats free) saw an awesome Who tribute and the line up for the next few weeks is amazing. looks like swindon will really get some quality acts at last. good luck to the guys who are running it, power to them!!

Closed for refurb.
Judging by the report in the local paper it's going to be quite a big (for Swindon) music venue.
The people that have taken over have a good rep so look forward to this opening soon.

Quiet when we went in (Sat afternoon). Big impressive building getting a bit shabby like a lot of big old pubs just out of town centres. Bands on at the weekend, pool table (only 10 bob a game).

"Local pub for local people". Tendency for people to stare at strangers.
