Good kind of pub feel to it - had a Nethergate brew which was a bit hard work to drink though.

This was just about the best pub of the 10 I tried in Bedfordshire yesterday. The pub is smaller than it looks from the outside. It has a single room with seating either side of the bar. Conversation is the key source of entertainment. There are 4 varied ales. Yesterday they were Oakham Dolphin Dance, Nethergate Wild Fox, Springhead Outlawed and Batemans XB. In addition, there were also 3 ciders - Westons Old Rosie & Rosies Pig & Thatchers Heritage. There is a patio at the rear, that doubles as a smoking area. A large car park is further back. Locals seemed fairly friendly and were willing to engage a stranger in conversation. Good pub.

Bit of a longer walk for me, but never fail to have good beers, friendly people who do not get offended at someone chatting to them as part of the general conversation...

Four great ales, tried them all, in excellent condition. Surprise oasis in a Greene King town.

Some interesting beers but sadly no longer its own beer. A bit dingy inside but still a friendly free house where people chat to strangers

i found the bar staff to be impatient and quite rude, beer was ok though

Visited the pub a few months back, recall it used to be full of builders, but understand they are now in the Lord Roberts for the most part. Great guest beers and friendly staff, ought to go back soon :)
