A spoobs which isn't vig but has been given the impression that it is, very tall ceiling to this place. Quiet when i was in. Ales included, Titanic Anchor, Oakham Green Devil, Phoenix Wobnly Bob, Phoenix Mild, and Elland 1872 porter. I went for The Anchor at 1.99, decent beer in decent condition. Quite a modern spoons so it lacks even more charm. Stalynridge as a town seems pretty poor for pubs so worth a look in.

Nice little Wetherspoons. Wasn't very busy when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. nicely decorated. Enjoyed a George Wright Mild. better than expected.

Not a bad 'Spoons - good choice of ales with decent food and service. Doesn't attract the best clientele, but that's not the pub's fault!

Definitely one of the better Wetherspoon pubs. Efficient service and well-kept ales.

ten handpumps all in use, opted for pint of old bear brewery mari'a which was totally divine and just 1.85 a pint like all guest ales, service was fast and friendly and the toilets were exceptionally clean, very impressed 7/10

Quite a decent Wetherspoons - a lot better than the Ash Tree in Ashton. Good choice of cask ales at excellent prices. Service can be slow at busy times.

Reasonable Wetherspoons. Ales quite good. Food good for a Wetherspoons.

Slightly above average Wetherspoons. A few local guest ales as well as the 3 usual real ales. Food usually good and often busy on curry & steak nights. Can be difficult to get served when busy. This is a live sports pub so noisy and crowded when sports events taking place. Pub is located on Stalybridge's crumbling, grotty, half boarded up, third world shopping precint so can be a bit rough. Chav & sports wear abounds. Gets busy at night with all the pre-club crowds getting a cheap drink before hitting "Staly-Vegas"

Big, busy and boisterous. Have some good ales at reasonable prices and the food is ok. Staff are surly and slow, the manager doesn't back his staff when they have a problems with threatening customers, and this could be the reason. I am not usually in favour of door staff, as generally anywhere that needs them i tend to avoid, but this place could benefit from a couple of door staff, and become a better place to drink.

Typical Wetherspoons - Large pub, very busy, good range of ales, cheap prices, surly staff and not enough of 'em, very long wait to get served.

Would prefer this place if doormen were employed at busy periods including Sunday afternoons!!
