Another Wetherspoons, this is a weird subterranean effort over two dark levels - as a former swimming pool perhaps you are drinking in the what was the pool basin itself (and which on the sweltering day I chose to crawl the city provided merciful relief from the searing heat outside).
Surprisingly, given the location and interior, four guest ales were available and my stout (I forget whose) was served very well by a friendly barman. Whilst I really didnt care for it as pub, the beer range and quality is enough to make me recommend popping in to see if anything tickles your tastebuds if you happen to be nearby (en route to the Bath Hotel I hope!).

Ex public baths building, a section of which has been converted into a regular Spoon. There's a nice room on the corner with a fireplace. It's an OK place with a small selection of guests. Much cheaper than the Spoons in town. We quite liked it.

One of the less exciting Wetherspoon's. Pretty generic, but darker and dingier than average.
|
The only reason to darken it's door was for the pool table. Now that's gone, it's only any use to slap a few chavs about. Depressing place. Even the fish look suicidal.

What an utter shit hole. This place deserves to be burnt to the ground. You can only expect shit clientele with such a shit approach to serving drinks.
Avoid like bubonic plague.

Awful place. Usually rammed with chavs. Poor service, but its cheap. Only reason for going in really. Even then, S1 is better.

typical weatherspoons feel to the place, with of course the atmosphere being sacrificed in favour of budget drinks. a good first port of call though and usually busy.
