such a shame this place turned into reflex, as academy this was the best club in southampton!

Now reincarnated as Reflex, this is simply Flares but 80's rather than 70's. Attracts a local, older crowd, and is about as unpretentious as you can get. Not surprisingly can get quite punchy towards the end of the evening.

Still a bit of a dive, but the cheesy 80's music is great.

Not the academy now, its the new 80's bar reflex, not too bad, gets abit too busy so if you like a quiet drink...avoid, if you like the lively nightlife, well worth a look

If you're into student nightlife + easy pulling then you'll love the Academy! For non-students getting past the bouncers can often be difficult though...

Can be absolutely packed full of skirt on certain nights. It's always amusing trying to identify the Uni girls from the Institute girls.

I love it here, I don't think it's just for students though. Keep an open mind about this place. It's not as cheap as some of your more typical student haunts but the music is great and it's one of those places where you are guaranteed to have a great time.

Shagademy. Not much else to say. If you want to go and pull lots of people and be rubbed up against all night then this is your place.

Great for students, though mostly the 'beautiful people' from the Institute. Music is a bit cheesy sometimes, but the drinks are cheap. Only bad thing is that they've taken away some of the comfy seating!!!

Very Studenty, cheap drinks, cheesy music, usually crowded as hell from monday to thursday after 10, but great atmos
