Dolphin Inn, Lower Westonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Has been born again as the Lockbridge. 3 real ales on: Bob, Butcombe and Farnham White from Hog''s Back.
Huge pub, focus on food. Not very busy for a Friday night but good place to sit by the canal for a quiet drink.

Now re-opened as the Locksbrook Inn. Another Gastropub; just what Bath needs. I intend to go there next week as part of a crawl. Will report back after that.

Quite a big pub. Had a pint of Doom Bar at lunch time, which was well kept. Bar staff were friendly and the lunch was fine. All in all I'd recommend it

A friendly, nice pub apparently under new management. Good selection of beers and ciders. The food's great and very good value.

This pub is a bit tucked out the way, but has the advantage of the river running right past which makes a pleasant place for a pint on a sunny afternoon. Inside its quite cavernous, far bigger than first impressions suggest. Besides the main bar area, theres a small sports room with a pool table, dart board, etc. and beyond that a large modern looking dining area which may well have been a skittle alley in a former life. Theres also a smaller, cosier dining area and a decent sized patio next to the river.
The main bar has a traditional feel with a patterned red carpet, red bench seating and a fireplace with some type of log burner in. There seemed to be several food offers available, although we didnt check the menu. There is also a Sunday carvery counter between 12:00 and 4:00. Barmaid seemed friendly and helpful (and very attractive!). The music in the bar was playing slightly too loudly for a Sunday lunchtime though.
Beers on offer were Butcombe, Doom Bar, 6X and Pedigree, the latter being 2.50 a pint as they were apparently over-stocked. Ciders were Thatchers Gold, Blackthorn and Gaymers.

They serve a good pint of Pedigree. Nice to go there early evening or to sit in the beer garden on a saturday or sunday afternoon. Better alternative to the Full Moon for a pre-match drink at Twerton Park. However, it changes in the eveninig and seems to attract the local wide-boys and chavs!

Excellent selection of drinks available. Friendly and Courteous Staff. Food has improved significantly although you run the risk of upsetting the cook if you ask for dishes such as "cheesy chips"
Skittle alley, pool, video juke box, pub quiz(zes) what more could you ask from you local?

Nice position by the river, worth a visit in the summer
