Haygate, Wellingtonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Demolished without permission earlier this year. Our weak kneed Telford and Wrekin planners said thats alright then, no problem. Clowns, the lot of them. We now have no decent rock music pub in Wellington.

Bigger selection of real ales than years ago, quite expensive for Guinness though at near £4 a pint. Other beers are well priced and they have special offers of "buy so many and get a free one". Beer is good too, not tangy or vinegary.
Pool room (has two tables) is a bit dirty, floor hasn't been cleaned for a long, long time. Pool tables are decent though. The toilets by the pool room are filthy though, if you need to sit down, use the other toilets in the music/lounge room
Lounge room that has live music at weekends is well tidy though after the overhaul, and has much better toilets. Music isn't to everyone's taste, mainly thrash rock and heavy metal and blokes who wear eye shadow.
Friendly atmosphere though... staff are welcoming. Never ever seen any trouble in there.
Just needs a bit of an overhaul in the pool room and pool room toilets. Run by a relatively large family rather than just a landlord with a bunch of disinterested staff, which adds a better atmosphere.

Went in for the first time a couple of weeks ago - very late - dragged in by oldest son. Pleasantly surprised - very loud music just finishing but pool tables, friendly staff and atmosphere

A music pub at the weekends with live bands. It has a couple of real ales and is holding a small beer festival this week. Needs a good makeover and a tidy-up.

Not the most glamorous establishment and poor choice of beer.

Another pub that hasn't been reviewed for over 2 years. The main change from the previous reviews is that this bar now sells real ale. OK they only have one, which was Bateman's Jesters Pale Ale, but they're trying. It was pretty good as well, keep it going please guys. Large stage area in one room with loads of decent looking seating. Two pool tables in the other room. Friendly welcome from the staff. It was pretty quiet, but it's alright is this place. You can't say that about many places in Wellington.

out and out rock pub in the evenings and weekends. some great live bands and a huge stage to watch em on! if thats your scene, then this is the place! bit quiet during the day, caters to the older lads and anyone else who fancies a quiet pint. friendly staff, seein as most of em are family members! landlady tina is great, but be warned, she takes no prisoners if crossed! similar crowd to the old iron horse, but with less kiddiwinks, less trouble an less dirt! love this place, cant think of anywhere quite like it!

I like the Haygate. The beer is nothing to write home about, no real ales etc but the keg beer is ok. Its the music and people which make here ok! In truth its a rock pub.. and thats me to a tee!
