A decent little bar just off the strand. Two real ales on tap both tasted great. The upstairs is quite small. The downstairs is slightly bigger and has cabaret on every night. The staff and management are friendly as were most folk i chatted to whilst drinking in there.

Not normally my kind of bar. Before meeting up with friends in the Harp, this was the nearest pub to the Harp that I hadn't been to and that offered real ale. It's a fairly small gay bar. Although there's a downstairs area where I'm informed a cabaret takes place every Sunday. Upstairs was a mixture of single blokes, groups of blokes and confused looking tourists. Pictures on the walls give the game away. But you wouldn't realise the nature of this pub from the outside. So it's not surprising that unsuspecting tourists visiting Trafalgar Square drop in here and then look somewhat confused! Tribute & Doom Bar are the two ales.

I had previously avoided this pub on the basis that a pub so close to Trafalgar Square would be a tourist nightmare. Very surprised to find a quite decent & friendly little pub and a pint of Doom Bar was 3.55, pretty cheap for central London.

Stumbled in here one night having not realised it was a gay bar.
Honestly one of the better pubs in the area, friendly customers and staff and a good night downstairs in the sort of club area.

Came here today after a very poor experience in another pub in Old COMPTONS Street. What a contrast Halfway was! Friendly service, a smile and great prices. However no soap in the toilets hence just a six.
|
Great fun to be had here. Reasonable drinks prices and there is entertainment downstairs every night of the week. Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful pub. The equivilent to 'a local'. Fabulous staff, good beer, cheap drinks, friendly and lively. A lot of pubs could learn a thing or two.
|
used this pub a few times and have to agree with previous poster, good prices and lovely staff.
|
It is a great pub, cheap drinks and mainly clean and tidy.
Staff are great most noticably a young guy called Angel, Really good-looking and a bit of a flirt. Always makes my day!
If im heading into town this is where ill go.

This bar is not pretentious. It is not fashion conscious. It is not expensive (by London standards!). The bar staff are not too arsey.
All quite remarkable for a central London gay bar. I like it.
|
Really like this pub. It's reasonably priced, good beer and quite friendly. Downstairs can get a bit too smokey, but not for long hey!
The staff are friendly and always serve you quickly.
If you're lucky and can get one of the 2 outside tables, it's a great place to watch the world go by.
Highly recommended

a cruisey gay/lesbian bar , 2 seconds from trafalger square and 2 secs from charing cross station , being straight and totally at ease with myself i do venture here whenever im in the area the reasons are 1) its cheap for the area 2) staff are friendly and helpful 3) can normally get served quick two bars , dont venture downstairs unless your prepared to be stared at one of the better pubs in the area , can get busy around 5pm but not as busy as the pubs between embankment station n charing cross

Can't recommend this bar enough. Good music, good muzic. Always have a good time. Only downside is the gents, bit cruisy. Always liek to see Charlie working, makes for a better night.

It is a nice pub, drinks are ok and the surroundings are good. The staff in general are nice. There's a very cute young barman with a shaved head - shy but friendly. There's a mid-20s blond hair lad that works in the week that's a real flirt too. The customers are middle aged and if you must use the toilets nip in to the ladies or risk walking through the crowd of men on their own waiting for a fumble in the gents with a fresh piece of meat. I've had a couple start making a move while i'm trying to take a leek!

This pub is superb, good traditional bar, no loud music - so you can actually have a conversation, friendly barstaff and a good mix of customers, always someone to say hello to. I've been there during the day and in the evening and always had a good night. Highly rate this pub!

was in here during the day once , seemed a nice pub only had a bottle of bud as my mate who is a little homophobic twigged it was a gay pub and wanted out , but the staff were friendly , the music was good as well
|
Went here last night for the first time in four months. The crowd is broadly middle aged, the beer is ok, but the staff have all changed. Nothing spectacular. Still, nice for a couple of pints on the way home.
A word of warning though... the toilets downstairs are VERY cruisy during the day, and there's usually a lot of men sat around by themselves waiting for a quick fumble.

Nice friendly bar in the heart of London. Beer well kept, staff more than pleasent, music not over loud. A little small maybe, but well worth a visit.

You can meet just about everyone in this pub. Gay, straight, refugees from St. Martin's in the Fields or the National Gallery. It is small and friendly. But beware - you can also meet "footpads" and rogues, who will be as friendly as pie and then make off with your bag when you're not looking. Charing Cross Station is a mere hop-skip and a jump away (with your belongings) to freedom.

Not bad for pulling the lads during the week but when the weekend comes avoid this place, it's just too packed...

Not the best place for picking up chicks. Unless you're a chick...
