Excellent real ale available today, Rhymney Export, Bullmastiff SOB, Brains Rev James, Greene King Abbot Ale, Ruddles and there was also two guest ales available and two more coming soon. How is this place not in the good beer guide??? The new manager seems to be very adept at looking after the ales, Fantastic well done

Congratulations on inclusion in the 2009 Good Beer Guide.Today ale was on top form and when the Pedigree ran out another excellent barrel was immediately put on.If only all JDW outlets were this efficient...

Good local. Not obsessed with food, and well kept ale. Efficient and friendly staff.

Visited Lunchtime 5/4/07. A packed house! Service was quick and very efficent and pub clean and tidy.
Nice semi enclosed beer garden and caters well for us smokers.
Beer keenly priced and good. Locals and staff friendly. A good couple of pints here I have to say. A contrast to my last visit here. Well done!

Its a Spoons Pub so you can guess 99% of the details without even going there! Feels strange going in this place at 11am and being the only one sober!! (Bar staff excepted - of course)

The second-noisiest pub I've been in. The first is another Wetherspoon's The Bear in Penarth. Knocking out these ceilings does terrible things to the acoustics. Run to the bar at Chapter or nip into the Happy Gathering for a noodle-fest.

Large Wetherspoons pub so you know what to expect - crowds, air conditioning blowing down your neck, very cheap beer. Named after Ivor Novello who was born down the road.
