Went into the Merry Monk before the Rochdale v Brentford game. Excellent pub with a good range of ales and a really helpful landlord
explaining all the local beers. Friendly locals and a good atmosphere.

Very friendly old style pub with darts & the unusual "ring the bull game" 3 or 4 Hydes beers plus usually a guest. Joe & Anne certainly know how to keep a good local running in top gear.

Quality pub with excellent hosts and beer. Warmly atmosphere inside with a good set of regulars. This is the sort of pub that has fallen by the wayside over the years - traditional local boozer - but this one survives on the strength of its excellent real ale....worth a visit for that alone.

Basic, old fashioned local. No food except on darts and quiz nights. Full range of Hydes beers plus normally a guest from a local micro. The landlord knows how to serve a good pint. Handy for football/rugby ground and Rochdale cricket,squash & lacrosse club.
