Great drink and even better people! proper PUB!!!

Once saw David Attenborough filming as yet unknown to science life-forms in the gents. I think that accounts for the smell.

I quite like this place, it's like a home from home (cos I spend most of my free evenings & wages in here!)
Karaoke/Disco Monday & Thursday. Quiz Tuesday. Quiet drinks on a Wednesday. various theme nights too. You can't go wrong at the Lion, no matter what anonymous (18 Jan) says (who is probably a parasite him/her self).
Chris & Fred are stars & the bar staff are second to none.
LEE IS REALLY CRAP AT POOL THOUGH :-) (Bet you know who I am now, don't you!?)

Dirty, dingey horrible little hole that smells bad and attracts customers of much the same description. One to be missed at all costs!

Used to be a brilliant "old fashioned" Home Ales pub with massive character. Unfortunately lots of small rooms meant that there was little for the greedy brewery companies who promptly gutted it into an open plan pub in recent years, wrecking its character. No more fun squeezing through the crowds to get to an indooor window and be served. One day all pubs will look alike they say. Market forces say some. Short sighted businesses by people who couldn't run ****ups in them say I. Who cares says they.
