Oh dear, another fine old pub (this was one of Chichester's oldest...) bites the dust. I think South Street must now have reached saturation point for Italian restaurants, no more please!!!!

Although it was undoubtedly horrible before it closed, I'm hoping the new place will at least be pub-like and not be a clone of Trents down the road, Chichester's already got more than enough of those! I'm not holding my breath though.......

Everytime I go near the White Horse I think "I'll give it another chance." Everytime I am disappointed. Last time I went there I was approached by someone I know who was only 15 but had fake ID. I reported him (such a grass!) and the manager shrugged his shoulders, quite plainly not caring that this beer drinking, under age idiot had just sworn at five of his customers. They claim to show sports, but everytime the cricket goes off for a break, the music comes on again, and you need to remind the sulky barmaid to turn the volume up on the sport. Avoid unless you like spending your time in pubs where customers and staff compete for who looks the most miserable.

The White Horse really isnt as bad as has been made out!!! The comments about the manager are fair enough, but it still has maintained its friendly atmosphere. And what is that about the bar staff?? Any one who thinks they are less than talent obviously needs glasses!!!!

Just come back from uni and re-visited the old haunts all I can say is what a shame!!!!! we wont be socialising in the white horse any more its been run down into the ground, we can only assume they employ young managers (monkies) because the work for peanuts! Shame about the barmaids too - what happened to the talent???

The White Horse Chichester USED to be one of the friendliest down to earth and fun pubs in Chichester the previous manager had the place running like clockwork and everyone there was welcome and left having had a great time. These days it's a complete mess,I had the great misfortune of meeting the new manager Adam Curley(um has he even left school yet????????????) and all I can ask is how did he get this place? He is rude harrassed and generally unpleasent, the staff all where faces like bull dogs chewing wasps...with the exception of his assistant manager surely this young man should've been chosen for the managers job???? he's polite funny and hard working and is the only thing that the white horse has going for it! Adams manner of work(when he's not got a pint in is hand) is arogant and cocky and he's a complete know it all, the pub is full of riff raff and mis-fits and not the place to be any more....Some one sack this man! -- Matt Chichester

The new manager at the white horse (Adam) is a complete idiot. Sorry to be so frank, however he has no people skills, no idea of customer service and often comes across as agressive. How this man was ever selected as a manager is quite simply baffling!! I visited this pub of a lunchtime and found the food to be good and the staff friendly, until I observed this young manager go about his business. On my next visit to Chichester, I will not be giving the White Horse my custom! This pub offers great potential but unfortunately not with Adam at the helm.
