Nice enough JDW...plenty of buses...worth a visit.

A rough and ready spoons, still lively as I write at gone midnight, but then it is the only place open in the town centre ( the famed real ale pubs close early here). Wick war BOB was not good, the Jaipur is excellent, but this is not a real ale stronghold. The Travelodge is rolling distance and always available for £20 odd, so I recommend Halesowen.

Dropped in whilst working in the area again.

Can only praises the staff for their knowledge of the ale. Just asked what they would suggest to a foreign to theses part, no hesitation of suggesting Ammorite, Dorset Brew include in Sunday lunch deal, never reaching the table with a full glass whilst supping way, I managed another 3 pints of the said nectar before lunch was finished..

Staff suggested Goldthread, Salop brew , and Fireside Bitter both where in excellent nick.
Thanks to my colleages for putting me right about the wounderful Church oppersite Spoon's the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, which makes a nice backdrop while watching the World (well, town) walk by. bee578 and Midwich - respect.

Always a busy pub, with a wide age-range of customers. Sometimes the staff can't seem to cope when it's busy - dirty plates and glasses left on tables for far too long. As wafflingdwarf pointed out, it's situated opposite the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, which makes a nice backdrop while watching the World (well, town) walk by. The beers are typical JWD, guest ales on draught along with what you'd expect to find - Strongbow and cheap lager etc. Unfortunately, it does attract a minority of 'dubious' clientele.

Visited at 5pm, Thursday, curry club night.Very busy filled with all ages as is usual for the Wetherspoons I visit. Unusualy it had four staff behind the bar and still appeared overwhelmed. The price of being popular I suppose.
Good range of ales Pedigree,Ruddles Best , Grifter?,Darkstar and more on tap.
Wafflingdwarf describes this pub / women/ position very well and Halesowen itself seems to be undergoing a scubb up. Its a capable ,small town Wetherspoons and nothing wrong in that.
Note ..If you have need of the Disabled Toilet be very carefull when exiting. You may collide with a waiter carrying hot food from the Kitchen next door. We saw some close calls during our stay

Suggest doing SOMERS SOCIAL CLUB first before visiting this spoon's, if your after proper selection of Black Country ales, unfortunate Somers closes at 2:30pm (shame), then I head down for this pub, where the ales cheap, locals with chat with you, and grubs fine, they even take the 50p vouchers that can from CAMRA without a quibble.

I enjoy it here in the Winter, the office staff come in around 5pm, so nice tasty women to enjoy the view, creating a brilliant back drop to the wonderful church that's is lite up across the road (sorry don't know the name).

138 & 139 and 9 bus stop are 20 yards away, so easy return back to Birmingham City centre.

Typical Wetherspoons but I enjoyed the beer I had on my visit. Had some different breweries available.

Technically nothing wrong with it. A typical Wetherspoons pub. However as JDWs pubs market their products on cheap drinks this is in an area were most pints are usually no more then 20p more anyway this would probably not be as much of a driving force as it would in London where drinks can be way more.

There is no music which is or isn't a bonus depending on personal taste, and there is a lot of pretty girls which is or isn't a bonus depending on personal taste.

Thats about it. By far not the worst Wetherspoons I've been in, but not much special either. As like a lot of JDWs not too bad, not too good.
