The pub, shut because it simply was lack lustre-not as good as the goat, nor as handy as prince of wales, not as atmospheric as windsor castle, nor as stuffy/ upmarket as churchill-add to this the fact that it was only half full every time ive been there, i can honestly say it was only a matter of time before it would close-to become a restaurant eh?-will keep an eye out for that..

Unfortunately it is now closed, to become a restaurant, the Elephant And Castle in Holland Street is owned by the Catherine Wheel's old owners.

The first english pub I ever visited. Nothing fancy, nothing overdone. Just a nice place to spend a few hours with a few pints.
