In Manchester for a meeting and had a meal (mixed grill) and a pint (Pride of Pendle) here. Both were acceptable rather than exceptional. All in all what you would expect from a Yates'.

I was in last Thursday night and, I have to say, I had a great time!
I was stood up by a lady friend (how depressing) but the staff there were just fantastic. They kept me company at the bar (while I was waiting.. unknowingly), were really lovely to chat to. I can't say enough positive things about them.
The drinks prices are really reasonable and the place was well presented and clean.
I'll definitely be visiting again!

I've been into Yates many times this last few years and I have to say it's come a long way. Some reviews here are very poor but also dated.
It's fresh, the staff were good and I had a great time. Good for sport, food, quiet drinks with friends and a boogie in the evening!

Not a good place at all. Staff were fine though. The pub itself is a shithole that seems to let in anybody.

A terrible place with no real ale. Avoid.

Looks totally out of place. Absolute rubbish. Try the Grey Horse just down the road instead.

I'm sorry, but this particular version of Yates' is my vision of Hell. I totally agree with the above comments, from the door staff to the floorboards. I cannot comment on the beer, as it was drunk in one, in order to get out of the place as quickly as possible (is that why the floors are so sticky, they glue you down so you can't leave??). I cannot even give it 1/10.

While waiting for my lift outside on Cup Final day, I didn't appreciate the sight of the bouncers dealing with a drunk who had decided to use the outside wall for a sit down by dowsing him with buckets of soapy water. I don't think he actually made any effort to enter the pub and it certainly put me off going in for a swift pint before the missus turned up.
