Horse and Jockey, Old Basfordback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Closed on a recent visit, with a 'to let' sign out front. It has also disappeared from Castle Rock's website without any fanfare, so I guess it is no more.

Has a lounge bar and public bar. During my afternoon visit only the public bar was open and the racing was featuring prominently on TV.
The Castle Rock beer was excellent - and good value as well. Staff were friendly enough. Actually they offered to let us sit in the lounge bar, but as no one else was there, we declined.

This is a great pub and really close to the tram stop, so is excelent for a pub crawl. The staff are always friendly and the beer is constantly good. There is always different things going on in this pub which will appeal to alot of different people, so its well worth a visit. Give it a try.

The beer is excellent, especially the Hemlock, but the pub itself is a bit down-market to say the least!
|
Been a couple of times, but found the ambience a bit like a Harvester!(Yuk) Beer was very average.
|
There are usually 3 or 4 cask ales on offer - Hemlock is the best regular ales from Castle Rock, also they sometimes have Harvest Pale Ale (which gets a 9 out of 10 on the Cobbo Beerometer!!)
This pub is close to David Lane Tramstop.
