Still don't know what's happened to spider! Probably still painting and decorating.

Quinno must like reading his own comments so much he keeps posting them twice.

Flat ale, gratingly loud music up against the football commentary, no no no no no
Avoid unless you have multiple personalities.

Hold onto your hats as you face a line-up of intimidating council-estate based scrotes- a most frightening of all pubs, as is most of Basingrad...

Still fancy the landlady.

Well, its had a lick of paint so the smoky atmosphere was not so dominant, being replaced by the lingering smell of Dulux. The pub is friendly and has some 'characters' - and thankfully keeps a community feel. This is a true 'locals' pub. The real beer is usually only Courage Best, hardly a major attraction, but in good nick ! There are plastic keg beers too, and it seems that Guinness may have a strong following here. A good community "back street boozer" - one of a sadly disappearing breed in Basingsjoke.

This pub has such a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone and everyone is welcoming. Each barperson I have seen is friendly and polite and landlady is great fun. Beer is great too. This is how a pub should be
|
Went in there at a lunchtime and was impressed - one of only a couple of traditional pubs in Basingstoke and met a couple of very friendly regulars and had a nice time. A very nice pint of Courage Best was served up. This is probably (I reckon) the smallest pub in Basingstoke. It's probably the only remaining 'back street' local in the town

does anyone remember ron bloomfield, who used to run this pub years ago?

Student pub on back street in Basingstoke. Very small inside but I like it, it's a bit like your nan's living room! It's ok
