started coming in here again on weekedays, it is my local after all having lived in lightwater for 10 years and never really used it. Friendly staff and the usual selection of locals propping up the bar area day by day. Nice garden, good spacious smoking area, prices ok about £3.65 a pint, good bar snacks as well!! bacon fries anyone!

By the way, this pub is dog-friendly: whether or not that is a good thing is another matter.

Nice family pub which caters for sports' fans, diners and people who just want to pop in for a drink and a chat.

There is a pleasantly decorated bar, with a mixture of seating, including comfy leather sofas in front of the big screen tv, leading to a smaller dining area with a smaller tv. Beyond this a coservatory area, again set up for dining. There is a good smoking area with heater and tv, a raised patio leading down to a sizable beer garden and a seperate kids' play area.

As well as there usual range of kegs, Hog's Back HBB was on tap, in reasonable form, with another handpump not in use. There was a large blackboard menu, including specials, and the food looked good.

If I moved to the area, I wouldn't complain if this was my local and it was a good spot to watch a bit of Sunday afternoon football on the box.

Not a bad little watering hole. Good size garden and covered smoking area. The bar area is sadly a little small but well proportioned and decked out nicely with leather sofas. You may annoy the odd sportsfan when getting drinks as wherever you stand at the bar you'll be in the way of one of the TV's (I like to do this just to annoy the odd square eyed regular). Have now started doing cider on tap instead of the sweet bottles which is nice. Also the food is actually very good. Honest pub that ticks a few boxes.

Frierndly welcoming family run pub to suit all ages. New experienced owners from Summer 2008 - Pub recently refurbished and is continuing to be upgraded.
Extensive menu of home cooked food is served at lunch time and evenings. Xmas menu good!
Good facilities for sports fans, drinkers and diners. alike
The garden facilities are spacious and ideal for families - discreet playground for children.

Beer (London Pride) lacked flavour and condition although I understand there are normally 3 real ales available - I didn't try the other 2 - and this may have just been the end of a cask. Food menu looked good and barman was friendly.
