Down to earth locals' pub with Doom Bar on.
|
First time in there yesterday with my Uncle Fred. What a delightful pub, great food, very affordable, pint of Youngs was spot on. Landlady was very welcoming too. Will be going again sometime.
|
Pitstop pub great for a swift DustBuster or two on the way home .
|
Nice quaint pub run by the gentleman Finbar. Unfortunatley let down by the quality of his ales. A shame as there is usually a good selection of them. If he sorted his pipes out he would get a lot more custome, although I don't think he's that worried about it.
|
Having trouble getting the sour taste of the bad beer out of my mouth. My friends left without drinking their beer, wine or flat soft drinks after giving me grief for making me go there. Pity really as a cute pub that could be nice, but is getting run down.

Lovely cosy locals pub run efficiently for over a decade by Finbar who has raised over 13,000 for the Shooting Star children's hospice. Good reputation for his beer keeping with 2 choice real ales plus a great selection of wines and good home cooked meals. Has won Richmond in Bloom awards for his abundant exterior flower baskets more than once. Live music starts on Oct 23 and will be on every Sat night starting 9pm. For more info on this great pub see his new website which is now up and running: thewindy dot co dot uk

Nope, didnt do it for me!

I fronted them out as you put it and they have no answer. I would rather spend my hard earned in an English pub in England with English people. Nothing wrong with that.
|
I'm English Nick! Just front them out, its just a load of mature guys having some craic. Never seen or heard of any trouble in there so its harmless fun.
|
2nd review of this place and i have to agree with pubghost. Was in the other night and heard them all slagging England off which always raises my hackles. I had not noticed the proliferation of paddys before. i asked one of them why they lived here if they hated it so much. No response..Needless to say i will not be returning.

Great Pub if ...
a) You're Irish b) You've been a regular for a hundred years.
If however you are English, have just moved to the area and are looking to meet people - forget it mate... you're face wont fit.
It's not a Pub, it's like a Catholic Club.
|
Well, I'm not a local and I LIKE this place. Mind you, I'm not allowed to drink at lunchtime because of my job, so although I'd love to tell you what the beer's like, I can't. Service even for my piddling soda and lime always very friendly.

If you've lost your builder / decorator / plumber "getting some parts", look here first. They're propping up the bar from 4pm. Language always colourful. 15 years + ago run by a great landlord - Ray - who WAS friendly & took no truck from dodgy customers. It's all changed now.

After two years as a regular I reached the dizzy heights of achieving a nodding relationship with the Landlord. This Pub is great if you are a) IRISH or B) born and brought up within 800 yards of the Pub - strangers looking for a friendly local STAY AWAY
