Re opened as slug and lettuce some time ago went in yesterday what is going on before we even sat down some faux maitre "d " wanted to know if we wanted a table for two or where we just there for drinks is this is still a pub/bar or direct competition for the ivy.

Had a reserved area near the front for a friend's leaving do a few weeks ago. It's vastly improved, and no longer has squaddies parading about. The service is still very poor, unless you're standing by a till.

Until recently this office block ground floor was another contrived, plastic example of the Litten Tree species, a place that was incredibly dull and boring without it being particularly unpleasant or ugly. Its recent conversion to a Slug & Lettuce is hardly reason for fanfares and fireworks. The interior is slightly truncated from its original layout with the rear section now been sectioned off behind a curved screen and bathed in Orange neon. The main bar is very open plan with a fairly low ceiling that makes it feel a bit claustrophobic although the colour scheme is at least a bit lighter than it was. The pub by numbers carpet has been replaced by light tiles and it does at least feel a bit more bright and breezy than it was. The furnishings and dcor are now more hotel lounge than plastic pub with sofas and modern arty farty prints of local landmarks at contorted angles. One thing that remains unchanged is the quality of the beers. Pride was off on my visit and the Deuchers was the worst I have ever tasted. I am not particularly known for my patronage of the likes of Slug & Lettuces, Litten Trees et al and this place gives me no reason to change my ways.

Previous comments sum-up this place......emotionless hole, like a "pub" on a North Sea ferry. Victoria is hardly the best place to go a-boozing upon an evening, but if you end-up supping here you know somethings gone deeply, deeply wrong with yr piss-up.

The Litter Tray has everything you need for fruitless night out. Having said that, the bar staff are friendly, but if you are going to work in a place like this it says allot ...tip, don't use big words. If you happen to walk by this place, run, run as quickly as you can into a fast moving bus, as that would be damn more enjoyable than having a pint in this place.

I have come here midweek lunchtimes to watch a bit of Test cricket and once after work on a Friday night with work mates. Despite having a laugh with my mates on the Friday night, this pub is devoid of any character, female talent and atmosphere. I think I could be reduced to tears of boredom if I find myself here on a Friday night again. Bland and boring, boring and bland.

Good spot to watch football but unfortunately it's full of the 'chavs' that used to frequent 'The Feathers' before they lost their late licence. Great place to conduct a Sociological study on Britain's new underclass!

Gone downhill a lot over the past 18 months. Could do with a refurb and more training for the staff - they can be alittle quick and can't wait to get rid of you so you may end up with an odd drink here or there.

Food is always generously sized (except the bowl of chips - you get better and more from the Laughing Halibut in Strutton Ground for less dosh) and good quality.

Friday nights can get "lively" (!) - just like The Feathers used to many moons ago.

Alas only good for a punch up - avoid (just as the staff in this pub, that tries to be a club, do when it comes to getting a drink.

Overcrowded, Overpriced and JustOver 16 (age of most of the 'customers')

Avoid - plenty better in the area (except the Shakesphere in Victoria)

The Litten Tree's an interesting phenom; kind of Wetherspoons Lite, though without the interest of different names for different pubs. The Artillery Row branch is comfortable enough but at 1pm on a Saturday had committed the cardinal and unspeakable sin:
All the real ale pumps were turned round. There was none available. Alas I had to drink a pint of keg, which gave me a headache before I'd even got halfway down it. This is not beer snobbery, the stuff is unpleasant. If there had been RA I would have almost certainly stayed longer. Food (a bacon burger) was ok.

Fantastic, great atmosphere, friendly polite service, comfy, accomodating, efficient service! I thought this was a thing of the past!

This is a great pub. I went there for lunch with a friend of mine and the service was friendly, the food was really good and, well, what can you say about pepsi... it was pepsi!

At one point someone nicked my purse, but the guy behind the bar saw her, chased her down the street and brought it back for me. How's THAT for service?!

"Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!" Seems to be the ethos of the Litten Tree.

Not the best pub in Westminster by any means, and one must wonder how it always seems to be full of an evening.

Beer is reasonable though - which would explain said perpetual state of crowd flux.

Full of aggressive tossers, plus their beer has given me gut rot more than once. One the plus side, the birds are drunk and loose.
