Good locals pub in the High Street, serving decent Sheps ales.

Very attractive small pub in pedestrianized street, with attractive hanging baskets outside for which it has won awards. A pint of Master Brew was fine, unlike the land lady/barmaid who could barely manage a grunt as I tried to pass the time of day. Personality bypass, I think, but a good pint nevertheless.

Visited 10 Aug 2013. Ales on offer were SN Masterbrew and Goldings. We had the Goldings which was in excellent condition. I can only echo what has already been said. It is very much a locals pub, but this is a good thing as the atmosphere was genteel, friendly and polite. I would recommend this pub.

Nice smallish pub in town centre. Very welcoming, no invasive music or tellys.

Well, what a bizarre little pub the Rose Inn is. Immediately enticing from the outside and indeed, quaint and delightful inside (though be it, pokey). This is a little Shepherd Neame pub fit for the locals and the just plain curios. Tattooed bruisers sat outside with their lady friends burping and farting whilst a little old lady sat calmly inside supping cherry and an odd-bod prompt up the bar with his wine. In a way, its clientele worked in its favour and made this reviewer's short stay that little more pleasant. Every good pub should have its characters and the patrons here certainly didnt disappoint on my visit. The only real pitiful was Master brew being the only ale.

I'm not a regular and was forced into the pub by bad weather. Thank god it rained. The beer was excellent and the welcome fantastic. Great history on the walls and my sort of pub. Just groups of people sat around chatting. Thanks a lot.

Excellent pub with superbly kept Shepherd and Neame bitter and an excellent lunchtime food menu. The pub is situated in the centre of Herne Bay and has a dedicated group of regulars (of which I am one!.The barmaids (Helen and Louise) are warm and welcoming. The landlord, Dave Hoskins, is folically challenged and a Charlton fan (you can't have everything!). There is a thriving social side to the pub with darts and quiz teams.Free seafood/snacks on Sundays.
