Waddon Hotel, Croydonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I used to work up the road from this pub some years back and visited The Waddon on a couple of Friday lunchtimes. I don't remember the beer at all, and recall the place was rather dowdy. This was probably 15 years ago. So finding myself recently stranded waiting for a train from Waddon station, I decided to pop in and see what was what. The place is now much smarter than I recall, and the beer on offer was Bass (seldom seen these days round here) and one from Caledonian. Can't remember which particular beer offhand. The Bass, which was all I had time to try, was very good and I said as much to the barman. It wasn't busy - there were only several others in there which was probably par for the course mid-afternoon on a weekday - so I cannot make any valid assessment of the quality of the other punters. Sorry John! However, this seemed to me a decent enough place for a pint or two of Draught Bass. Where else would you get that in Croydon? Cheers, AR

I went in to the Waddon Hotel for the first time today, and found it a spacious pub with friendly staff. Ales were Hyde's bitter (in good condition) and Caledonian Over the Bar (temporarily off). The pub has 2 pool tables, darts and sports TV, but I suspect the regular clientele might be the sort you'd normally avoid. Please post a comment if you disagree, I'd be happy to be proved wrong!

A great 'local' where outsiders are always welcome.
I've been doing the karaoke there for over 5 years now, and we have a laugh everytime.
Energetic crowds at weekends, quite peaceful during the day, except when there's sport on, then you have all the atmosphere you ever wanted!
Booze is mega cheap!

The Waddon is a large pub right opposite Waddon station. It has 2 big screens, 4 pool tables and loads of smaller TVs. they sell food all day and have entertainment at the weekends ie:karaoke/ DJs.
