Unfortunately, on my last visit to this pub it seemed utterly moribund. On the basis that first impressions last you really wouldn't go out of your way. Like walking into a funeral parlour.

I Walked in and walked out. I found this Pub dismal No Real Ales from what I see just a few People sat watching the Racing on Goggle Box .

What can I say this pub has been my life for many moons. I adore the place I even find it hard to sleep knowing that my friends the hairy boy and Noel might be in the Alexandra without me and find that I am drawn to the place at all hours. There has been a fantastic extension to the rear of the Alexandra super TV, lights etc really worth of seeing. The pub opens early which is good because I like a pint early morning especially with the hairy boy and Noel there, my best friends. We enjoy the atmosphere early morning and the friendly service I drink 15 pints a day in the Alex, work can be a problem knowing that the Alex is open without me. The men are fantastic some of the them are in good shape to, one small problem I would like more gay men to visit. The Alexandra is so nice I would advise any one to call in for a pint my name is Daclon Scott I am the small ginger man with the legs crossed sitting at the bar, either annoying the regulars, eyeing up a man, trying to break up a relationship, rubing my hand on the hairy boy aka Francis legs or whispering in some ones ear. I will test your patience when you meet me that I promise. Great pub, great beer great service great time. A must visit

The pub is amazing the people are friendly the service is great the johns smiths is in a different league if you drink to much of that try the Guinness its lovely. My name is Daclon Scott I am one of the regulars in this little gem you will notice me, I am the small ginger guy who annoys everyone. I love a pint at 8.00 am with the hairy boy and Noel my best friends. Its so nice at this time, a paper, a pint of John Smiths and the hairy boy and Noel boy beside me. The Alexandra is the most enjoyable pub I have ever drunk in but like a choosen few it is difficult for me to get access to other pubs in the area for various reasons. The new beer garden to the rear is great, with nice lights state of the art TV sound etc. I enjoy this pubs because it has more men than anywere else I have been so I feel at home looking at men and annoying everyone that I see. I strongly advise the next time your are in East Finchley call in a lovely experience and pub.

Even though the service was very friendly (rude service is one of my pet hates) I wasnt that impressed with this place when I visited last week. The beer selection was very limited; Stella, Carling, Fosters, John Smiths and obviously Guinness.
I found it to be more like a living room than a pub and the TV that wasnt showing the muted horse racing on sky had the film I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry playing on it with the volume turned up. I do like Adam Sandlers humour, but not in a boozer whilst I am trying to enjoy my pint.
There is a dart board by the entrance and a small patio garden to the side of the pub.
I think that this is one of my least favourite pubs in East Finchley and Ill keep on walking next time I go past.

I went in here last Tuesday as I was on my way past going to the Windsor Castle. Ive never been in here before I was pleasantly surprised a very good nice Pub not to crowded and excellent Guinness good friendly crowed and Staff. I will most defiantly return here again. At least I now know at least two Pubs that I like in Finchley.

Not a bad pub, locals are friendly aside from an annoying little italian T-Shirt seller who tend to lower the tone of the place!

May be forced to reconsider this one. Always been great, but the last couple of times I've been in, my friends and I have fallen foul of the 'old guard'- the Chelsea pensioners propping up the bar.
They may have wandered across from the Clissold Arms, but they're angry and they don't like you trying to get to the bar. They also don't like football, anyone who doesn't drink bitter or anyone under 60.
I think that they might just appear on a Sunday (and are probably home in time for Last of the Summer Wine), so leave them to it and try popping in on a week day.

Great little pub that remains (thankfully) quite quiet. A godsend when confronted by the hell of Muswell Hill drinking. They've always got the Stones playing, the food is pretty good and you can always get a seat.
One downside is the shocking lack of choice beer wise. It's a small bar, but surely they could fit another couple of pumps in?

This pub is right next door to a petrol station forecourt. The smell of petrol adds nothing to the enjoyment of a beer.

This is one of the finest pubs in finchley. A true local. The Guinness is fantantic, the staff friendly and the "Crac" mightly. It has a great morning and daytime trade with a great mix of chacacters both Irish and British. They show all the football and racing on there big screen, never getting to crowded for big matches. (Also a great Jukebox). Overall an unfound Gem.

This pub used to be run by Joe Prior was without doubt at that tome the friendliest pub in Finchley .One man who used to sing there was Gerry Loughnane afraid he has passed on now as most of the old timrers have but a great Pub

the nearby windsor castle is truely a real pub, old school in the best possible way . instead of going there and having 4 pints, stop here first for one pint, and have 3 at the windsor castle .
