Comfortable two-room backstreet local served by a central bar. It has a nice garden at the rear too. Six ales were on - Castle Rock Harvest Pale, Fuller's London Pride, Nottingham Extra Pale Ale, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Oakham Citra & Ruddles Best. The Extra Pale was ok, but not really my kind of beer. They were all fairly pale.

Nice little "back street" pub. No kids allowed (hard for families but there're plenty of Wetherspoons to herd them into) and no food apart from bar snacks. Does get crowded of an evening since it's a small place but in fine weather the award-winning beer garden is a treat. Beers can be a bit hit'n'miss but they serve a fine Kipling.

This is one of Nottingham's best pub's although it's hardly known outside the local circle. On my last visit Skipton Copper Dragon was excellent but Buxton Blond was dreadful. Other's in the party all commented on the quality of beers (BB excepted). Well furnished beer garden and smokers area for those that must.

Tucked away great little boozer. Pleasant atmosphere and handy as a local.

Decent local pub. Beers all fine, prices a little high, but then that's the area really. Very nice, spacious outside area for us smokers and for enjoying the weather (when that's possible!). Don't make a special trip, but not bad at all for a few local jars.

Good pub but the beer's not always up to scratch. The Landlord tastes like any generic beer, and it's getting pricey.

One of the best pubs in Nottingham. Oh, and keep the Harvest Pale - it is great.

why so many queers and lesbians?

smashing pub, good beer but they a bit cheeky when it comes to short meaures, keep the bishops farewell on its the bolllox, ditch the harvest pale and simmer down on your prices considering the short measures

This really is a splendid little boozer selling 3 or 4 real ales in superb condition.
I had Nottingham EPA and if I hadn't been in a rush would also have has a Timothy Taylor's Landlord and stayed for the excellent barbecued Merguez sausages.
Get down there - a friendly boozer in a quiet side street

Two-roomed local, just off Mansfield Road. The best pub in this area. Good for a quiet pint and a chat. Friendly with 3 or 4 well kept beers. It is small so get in early.
Never been to the Folk Club upstairs on Wednesdays.
