This pub has a prominent position at the top of Derby Road. It is an Everards/Lincoln Green colaboration pub with another good selection of beers - Everards Tiger, Lincoln Green Hood, Gin & Beer It, Tuck, Marion, Blackshale & Archer, Banks & Taylor Dragon Slayer & Little Sheff, Spitting Feathers Thirst Quencher, Peakstones Rock Nemesis & Naylor's Old Ale. Worley's Rocky Road cider was also on. Getting quite drunk by now, we didn't venture too far from the bar. So no chance to explore.

This is now my favourite pub In Nottingham, great friendly staff and very knowledegable, great beer festival this past weekend. They also serve a cracking pint of Bass, what is there not to like?
|
Made a special effort to pop into this pub last week after living in Nottingham for 47 years and never having been here.
Nice modern decor in an old pub building. Good pint of Tiger and a nice relaxing beer garden out the back. Who would have thought that you could sit in an oasis and drink beer on Canning Circus?
Will be popping in again if I get chance.

Well worth the walk up the hill to reach this pub!

A little gem. One of the last remaining proper pubs in Nottingham city. Several real ales and although I didn't eat there myself, the food menu did look incredibly tempting. I shall try it next time.

Excellent little pub - characterful decor, pleasant staff and punters. Certainly worth a visit.
|
Good beer (Landlord, Elsie Mo, Everards), nicely furnished, warm with plenty of seating inside and out.
|
one of the best down to earth pubs in nottingham and i miss it alot

Called in while doing a pub crawl of Nottingham in March. Enjoyed a Castle Rock regular - Elsie Mo, and a new Everards. Tempted by the pudding menu and they let us have puddings without having had a dinner. Brill. Although open plan, it has separate areas that give it a cosier feel. Loved the artwork on the walls.

Great pub, with plenty of beers and decent food.

1st time in here for years pity they had no Malibu for the wife ? the next person that came in asked for malibu aswell ? she had pimms lovely outdoor back yard , it will get a 2nd visit hopefully when they have some malibu.

A great pub to escape from the townie rabble, good music and beer. It has great character, a walm welcoming atmosphere. Staff are friendly, feels like a second home.
|
We stepped in here to get out of the cold and to have a pint...it felt more like a tea room than a pub. The Sunday crowd certainly had their pinkies in the air as they sipped from their cups. We left as soon as we'd drained our glasses. Not quite what I'd have expected given the location.

Best beer I drunk allday in Nottingham. The Everards Tiger was stripe/spot on and the the Derby Porter wasnt far off.....The pubs like a well kept antique shop with some- very good-croaky French tunes on when I was in there...Well worth a check.
|
Good food, good beer, good wine selection and the landlady has plenty of advice on which wines are good/bad. Very relaxed place but when the kitchen staff turn on the dishwasher one of the rooms actually vibrates!!
|
good food, good beer, nice relaxed atmosphere and lovely beer garden and terrace for the summer - my favourite!

I went in this pub for the first time in ages - and i couldn't wait to finish my pint....there is no atmosphere to speak off and the people were awful...sadly i'll not be back - i prefer a pub with a bit more character...this pub is trying to be something it isn't

I quite agree with my friend about Middle class trash. Perhaps if they had a brain cell between them - they would not be so bad.
|
I've been to this pub a few times but each time the staff are rude and have no manners whatsoever. The beer isn't bad but there is no real atmosphere here - i wouldn't bother with this pub to be honest - there are loads of better pubs in the area

lovely pub, lovely staff, lovely food. all in all lovely. the garden is great in the summer. a secluded paradise amidst the traffic of canning circus. in the winter you can huddle round the open fire and relax on the big comfy leather sofas. go there. best pub in nottingham

Average decor but the staff do indeed let the pub down...not very friendly and can often be stand offish. Nice food though.

Can get very busy and therefore difficult to get served but they do have Timothy Taylor's. The enclosed courtyard out the back is all right in the summer.
Appeals to the middle class trash who have moved into the luxury apartments nearby. I once saw six or seven blokes spread out around the table all displaying their mobile phones, one of which was slightly behind him because it wasn't posh enough, on the table we sat at. "Look! you get a free phone with every table in here." They soon put them away.

A nice pub but sadly the staff let it down.
