Now renamed The Minster Arms.
Don't quite agree with previous poster, but it is more of an eating house. The refurbishment is very good - apart from the toilets (more later)
The pricing policy is obviously designed to keep the average punter out and pay for the refurbishment - Doom Bar is £4.00. This probably explains why there were only two other people in there having coffees yesterday afternoon.
The toilets look great but the urinals overflow badly when being flushed - paddling big style!

This is now a self styled "restaurant with rooms" and should be removed from BITE as it is no longer a pub.
shame it shut :( Mike kept a good pub :(
Appears to be closed: tried to visit lunchtime today. The building is beginning to deteriorate.
The new managers invite all locals and visitors warmly. Food served all day, premiership football on 3 screens. Why not pop in for a beer or a meals and relax on the couches.
Great landlord, locals can look scary but in fact are all friendly, good sofa area, and they have some brilliant rock bands on Saturdays, free to get in. Worth the one minute walk from the square.
Excellent place to watch football (big screens, sky and sultana games) comfy chairs, nice landlady and a good pint of ringwood best.
THIS PUB IS LOVELY, STAY CLEAR OF THE LANDLADY, EVIL LOOKS IF YOUR NOT HER FRIEND. SHAME ABOUT THE FOOD TOO, LACK OF IT, THAT IS. SEEN STAFF ON THE FRUIT MACHINES WHICH I'M NOT SURE IS FAIR PLAY AS THEY HAVE A VIEW OF WHO HAS WON DAY IN DAY OUT

A beer at this pub, would be nice.... sat there the other evening waiting for the beer i ordered.... and am still waiting waiting waiting ..... not getting any younger here... come on you blonde lasses pull yer finger out.And land lord dropping famous names ain't getting you no where.
Yes Nesbitt but no mention of beer in your post. It might come as a surprise to you but some of us still like a drink when going out to a pub.
That said, will try and pay a visit over the festival. Just hope it doesn't kick off in here like it did last year.

Hi All Having just taken over this Lovely old establishment Jayne and Pete would love to welcome you to come try us again. So that we can change the comments that have been posted here. The service is now Friendly warm and pleasant, Prices are very competitive with the surrounding pubs, And the food is now of a very high standard and fairly priced. Hot Pye's on sale all day. And now we can call it a Great Old Fashioned Pub................ Hope to See you all soon

GOOD LORD - i've never been in a pub so smokey! Not normaly one to complain about this, as smoke in a pub is in line with my expectations, but this was dreadful.
Nice old pub though, and seemed to get served quickly.
nice pub, very expensive
The most expensive pub in wimborne. The ales are poorly kept and the service is terrible. Avoid if you can, the green man over the road, or the kings head round the corner are FAR better choices.
Pleasant pub, quite quiet on the Tuesday night we visited in April.
