not a good pub at all.

A great little pub, some way from Egham town centre, worth seeking out though. 4 ales on and very well kept, 3 Vale beers and Rebellion Mild on this visit.
|
Lovely pub and wide range of drinks served.
Even though saying that its not a place I like to go as I find it very clicky and very boring! As soon as you walk through the door everyone turns to look at you!
Nice if you want a quiet drink I suppose and ideal for a local late licence holder!
Landlord very nice man

Thought this was a nice little local pub on the road out of Staines. The main bar area seems to have been refurbished without spoiling the character of the pub. There were 4 handpulls, but only 2 beers on - Hogsback HBB and Waylands Blonde Belle. I would probably return if passing.

Definately one of the better pubs in the area,in these times of bars and pubs passing off 'creamflow' and 'extra smooth' as real ales with no alternative it's always refreshing to find 2 or 3 real ales on in the compasses from the likes of Badger or Hogs Back breweries, pubs always friendly with a couple of tellies,2 pool tables and a couple of dart boards. The pub is slowly taking shape and adam and julie are gradually updating the decor and (for the better) adding their own touches. Pub also has a couple of pool teams,a well represented golf society and a stonking jukebox!!

We really enjoyed our evening at The Compasses. We had been there once before years ago and really didnt like it but were advised that it had been taken over by a lovely new couple, so decided to give it another go. We are very happy that we did and will now be visiting frequently! The pub had a lovely atmosphere with really friendly staff and customers, brilliant beer, a REAL fire and best of all we were served by the governor, a tradition I thought had sadly died out years ago. Our friends were right, the couple running the place are lovely and made us feel very welcome! The open fire is fantastic it this bitterly cold weather.

A very nice and friendly pub. The new landlord, Adam, is giving the pub its well deserved bit of tlc. The beers and lagers are kept very well and are always great. They do a few ales and at the moment they are promoting a different one every couple of months from the Badger Brewery.

Beer quality never been as good as that February visit.
Smoking ban has shown up how tired-looking the inside is. Needs a bit of TLC but really could be a contender if the landlord applies himself.

might have been an off day but the beer was just not up to scratch, went in with two pals for a couple of pints and a bite to eat but left very disapointed, may return, but not to soon,

Now this is more like it, three enjoyable Hall & Woodhouse (AKA Badger) brews, served well in a comfy atmosphere.
A most enjoyable pub, overlooked in the North Surrey area, will attempt to change that...
|
Unusual pub for Surrey, in that 1) Its very friendly if a bit "local" and 2) serves a decent pint! Interior warm and welcoming with that beer light amber glow.
|
Reasonable sized pub, a bit lacking in atmosphere, however, a selection of 2 or 3 ales kept well. Could do with serving food, Regulars and staff very friendly (Including ANNA)
|
Nice atmosphere, good people, could do with serving food, nice pool areas and could do with a live music license.

Family pub which serves good beer including a selection of real ales. Three different bar areas each with their own style, one of which doubles as a large function room for hire.
