Great pub for a quick drink after/before/inbetween work, with added bonus of very tasty, good value food. My first choice in Radcliffe.

Latest addition to the chain that runs the Lord Nelson in Burton Joyce , the Wollaton, and the Larwood and Voce in West Bridgford. This means it has been gentrified and gone a bit foody. Perhaps not the greatest time to do this in a recession.
Anyway, the three or four real ales are of decent quality and you can just pop in for a drink without feeling out of place.

I have been twice. Visited for drinks in December 2009, 2 beers were off. Visited for a meal with a party in mid January 2010. The much vaunted chips were old and cool and vegetables were sparse. We were given a platter of bread without being informed it was extra. Traditional puddings lacked content. Food in general was expensive. On our experiences I cannot recommend eating here.

A busy and lively bar on one side combined with a friendly and comfortable lounge on the other. Lots of real ale all the time as well as scrumpy ciders (if you ask). Once a month this pub provides possibly the best food I have ever seen outside of a restaurant. The 6 course set menu (with wine specifically matched to each dish) is unbelievable value at 30.

Super village local - 6 to 8 real ales as well as reasonably priced wine.
There are 2 separate rooms and real fires to make this a welcoming experience.
