Classic pub split in to sections. Numerous unusual ales on, the ones of which i trued were all decent. Worth the bus ride out from the ale desert of Dundee.

This was my pub of the day in Scotland. It's located on the banks of the river, next to a lifeboat station and the interior is full of character. Service was friendly. It's a hotel and it also hosts live music sessions. The ale range was good - Greene King Old Speckled Hen, Caledonian Deuchars IPA, Broughton Clipper IPA, Houston Peter's Well, Shepherd Neame Spitfire & Inveralmond Ossian. A very nice place to spend time refreshing yourself.

Enjoyed a few ales in here on Saturday night. The beer was good with a wide selection. It wasn't just Scottish ales - there was Black Sheep and a beer from Ilkley brewery as well as a couple from Inveralmond. The ones I tried were all excellent.

The pub was busy, but not heaving. Good atmosphere. I think the low ceilings and seperate rooms all contribute.

Well worth coming back to.

gem of a pub if you follow the road over the railbridge from the post office pub to the bottom..all beers i tried were scottish and excellent and the place was packed wen i visited on the friday this april..has a nice atmosphere and plenty of bar staff to keep up with demands..found this village to be quite interesting as there was a lot of activity going on in the pubs..the royal arch is also worth a mention as its not listed here...two great pubs.

Just about the best place in the Dundee district for real ale, no quibbles on the drinks side. However, the pub is in dire need of redecoration, and the punters can be a little cliquey. Thursday night fiddle music is also one to avoid.

Stayed here this week - pub much the same though appears to be Belhaven/Greene King owned (may be wrong) Beer range still looks to be best in Dundee area. B&B vey good.

Great pub with loads of ales including changing guets ales, very nice atmosphere but a bit crowded at times

quite a nice wee pub that can be a bit dark at time. The open fire gives it a homely touch.
Sometime the customers can be a bit aloof which detracts from the atmosphere.

Low ceilings and a great atmosphere. However half an hour in there is a fast-track to lung cancer. Roll on March the 26th and perhaps it will steal a bit more of my business from The Ship.

A multi-roomed pub with low ceilings selling a range of changing guest beers. The combination of well kept interesting beer and a pleasant very 'pubby' atmosphere makes this well worth visiting. There is a good lunch time menu with fine fish as well as standard pub choices. Beware fiddle music, however, on Thursday evening.
