New landlord recently according to the banners. Food and beer was excellent quality at reasonable prices. Quick service and attentive staff.

Went there Christmas week 2007 - only just remembered to post a review. Bar was quiet. No true separation between the bar/lounge/restaurant but the open plan has been like that for many years now. What was new was the HUGE plasma screen at one end (complete with PS3 set up and big sofas) and the Nintendo Wii at the other end. Quite novel at the time, though other pubs seem to do this now. The friendly bar manager/owner, was very attentive and when we asked for a real ale that he didn't have on he was happy to put the barrel on and then came back to check with us whether it tasted alright (it was fine) which was a nice touch.

Clientele perhaps doesn't quite match the aspirations that the pub has, but a reasonably enjoyable visit on this occasion nonetheless.

Five of us went there last night for a birthday meal, it was fantastic. I had a rump steak, probably the best steak I have ever had, lovely and tender. The young waitress was extremely polite and attentive, a great asset to the business. A very relaxing environment.

Went there today. Was astounded at the prices. Charged 3.20 for a pint of lemonade and lime and I even then had to asked for it to be topped up to the full measure. They call it a 'family oriented pub' which just seems an excuse to make a killing on all the soft drinks.

Tried to discuss it with rude lady behind the bar but she refused to accept my comments and said that they had not had a single complaint in six months which I found hard to believe. I said 'consider this your first'.

Avoid.

Food is fantastic. It is cooked really well. Beer is good. I have been to this pub twice. My wife thinks food is great also. Trouble is that you do have to wait a while, so I would recommend having a starter.

This pub has come under new ownership from February 2007 and is about 1000% better. Good beer, friendly staff, will let you know about the food next week as I am going there next Saturday.

On the upside this pub has a good garden for children, which has a bouncy castle and a rabbit-hutch.

On the downside, whether or not this pub chooses to be serving food when you visit is something of a lottery.

Despite a sign outside which says food is available 7 days a week from 12-9, we visited on a Friday afternoon to be told that they wouldn't be taking food orders until 6pm. We then visited the following Monday to be told "we don't serve food on Mondays".

What an awful place. I have never been anywhere that has such rude staff and where the manager refuses to come and listen to your complaints because he can't be bothered.

Definately one to avoid at all costs

Nice, friendly pub tucked away on a corner of a country road. Good summer pub with an enormous beer garden. What really makes this pub stand out is its fantastic restuarant.
