Sheer joy: a proper pint, not a half-litre rendered by the now near-endemic Yorkshire Disease (wasting time messing about with a sparkler to give a "head", on a short measure of now lifeless beer).

Keep it coming guys.

I was pleasantly surprised by by this place.

Nice pints of Young's and decent enough food were served in a relaxing garden area on a hot summer's day.

As others have said, the exterior should not put you off.

It was easily the best in the vicinity.

Cracking locals pub which is far and away the best in the area looks rubbish from the outside but nice terrace to the rear and a bar of characters go try it

A pleasant neigbourhood pub slightly off the beaten track in a residential area, with nice staff. Plenty of outdoor seating and space in general (on Saturday evenings anyway). Decent beers. There is a supply of second-hand books at nominal prices.

A decent enough Wells/Youngs house. Looks older on the inside than it does from the outside. Had a pint of Youngs Bitter - choice was between that or Bombardier. Seems like there is a policy to kill off Young's Special by Wells/Youngs. Am increasingly finding that the mid range (4.something%) ale is the more marketed Bombardier and Special is being slowly dispensed with (although some may argue that these days it's virtually the same beer). I used to like Young's Special and Ram & Special was a popular half and half with many folk.

I love this place. Very much a local pub but very freindly and you can usually find a seat, when other pubs around here are rammed.

Recently "under new management". When we were there it was staffed by young enthusiastic Portugese girls. Decent enough beer and wine. A couple of the boyz thought the food was a bit greasy. We will revisit soon.

Good ache area, occasional problems if someone is sitting on one small nearby table, otherwise, a nice throw. Beer ok.

really cosy pub after dark, good beer, nice selection of ales (standard youngs) and has a nice unpretentious "locals" feel to the place, was quiet on my saturday evening visit with just a few regulars propping up the bar and chatting.Very friendly landlady who bought us a bowl of nuts to our table on the house which I thought was a nice touch.

Beer is Wells Bombardier and Youngs Ordinary: a visible sign of the brewery merger. Quite a quiet pub but not uncomfortable. My cheese sandwich was in a fresh baguette but what happens if you put grated cheese into a baguette? It all falls out, d'oh! That apart this was an ok place but not fantastic.

Decent enough Youngs pub, beer well kept. But 3.06 for a pint of Guiness?!!! Not in this lifetime pal!

Fantastic pub - a cracking example of how to keep a pub in good shape without making it tatty or all bar one esque. Great decor, nice service, good pint and best of all, great music playing.

I disagree completely with the comment about lack of atmosphere - I thought compared to some of the pubs around here it was great.

Far enough away from the Victoria coach/tube station hell that the passers by don't find it.

Proper locals boozer with no music so you can actually hear yourself think. Agree that the staff are friendly.

First pub we came to on our annual pubcrawl. It has changed a lot since we came here. The youngs beer was nice enough but the pub seems to lack in atmosphere. The staff were freindly but not greatly experienced. Nice enough pub.

Typical modernised bare - boarded one bar pub. Staff were friendly enough and the Youngs beer was OK, but this seems to be rather anonymous soulless place, lacking in any real atmosphere or character

Oh, and by the way, its in Pimlico, not Belgravia

A decent alternative to the terrible Orange Brewery around the corner.

Does a decent quiz on Sunday nights, and is full of 'real people'!

I visited the Rising Sun in April of 1974. I met Aubrey and Jackie Brightman. Wonderful folks and I never met a stranger in the pub, I met their children Ian and Linda and a very close family friend "Rollie Gray" Being from the US Everyone welcomed us with open arms, We will never forget our visit with the Brightman Family. I wonder what happened to them.

I came in here after work and not the best pub for atmosphere. If your not a local then looks are given. If your looking for a good youngs pub the Fox and Hounds is a better choice. The Rising Sun could be a nice pub but its not.

Will be sure to visit in September 03 to see the improvements.

pub has recently changed to tenancy and is currently undergoing a major redecoration programme from the toilets to the main bar and outside areas.
