Corner pub with a collection of eclectic furniture that currently seems to be in fashion for pub makeovers. It was pretty quiet when I dropped in late afternoon but most of the clientele seemed to be local office workers. Only two ales but ones not seen in many pubs - both by Red Squirrel - RSX and Hopfest. Hopfest was very nice.
Bar staff were friendly and efficient. All in all one of those pubs that you will use if you work or live nearby but not one to make a great effort to travel to.

oh dear oh dear ,the book on how not to run a pub was wrote here!!!!

Reopened 3pm Nov17th (no food until Nov19th). Visited Nov17th evening. Fully redecorated but similar layout to before. Staff still in training mode. Couldn't find lo-cal tonic so barstaff went to corner shop opposite to buy to do G&T for one of our group. Unfair to rate on opening day but looks a solid 5. Current photo "Firkin Beer Co" is several years old!

Great to see that the pub is opening again. I keep on peaking in through the door and it looks like its going to be a lovely venue. just what the area needs.
|
This place is still boarded up with signs stating that it is in the process of a refurb - Over a year now!
|
now closed down for refurb!! Needed it!!

Does this place even exist any more?

Used to have a bit of character to it (for a pub built into the corner of a multi-story car park that is) with a good food range and range of beers, but its turned into just another chain pub - same chain as the Globe round the corner - in fact identical food menu. Very stuffy - you can still smell the smokeove 2 months after it was banned.

they should rename this pub the Moon, as it shares a common characteristic with it:it has no atmosphere.

The new manager is a right laugh. I had an enjoyable experience with no problems with the beer or food. Good value for London.

Maybe I had a better experience than most, or maybe because I was there in the afternoon, but I found this pub to be a pleasant place, if not particularly memorable. No, not worth a journey, but would drop by if I were in the area for a pint. The barstaff's English could be improved.

Dreadful. Venue of the worst pint of Guinness i've ever had the misfortune to consume. You'll feel your soul being sapped from your body on entering. Avoid. Far, far, far better options nearby.

full of yuppies and pretentious dunces

A fairly non descript operation with little or no atmosphere. It is based underneath a multi storey car park which says an awful lot about the place. The beer is unbearable unless you like your lager served warm, in fact, I've been in better pubs on council estates. (At least they have fights as entertainment).
That said, it is never busy due to the above reasons and that is it's saving grace!

The best place to grab a bite and chill with your mates. Excellent location tucked away from busy shoppers.
Worth finding. ;)

I really like this place, for quality and value for money the food has been excellent on three occasions. The staff are very friendly and efficient in all areas and the beer was great.
Not usually the sort of pub I like but this would be my first choice if I wanted a couple of pints and a bite to eat.

Apparently named after 90's dance icons Apollo 440.
Maybe.
Dull colour-scheme but some decent beer and efficient bar staff.
Always relied upon to show football. Food a bit dry but overall serves its purpose.

This is a great place to eat and drink. The service is fantastic and the food really good! Check out those Belgian beers!

Bit of a shortage of proper beer whenever I've been there but the lager is quality and served very cold as it should be. Cheap food (I think it was about 7 quid for 2 meals?) that was pretty good, slightly contradictory in that the menus are on gastro-style clipboards while the selection is fairly trad pub food (fish & chips, caesar salads etc.) Worth the 3 minute walk from Baker St station, and it's off the main road so isn't too plagued by tourists looking for 221B.
