I went to the toilet in this pub,and there was a lump of shit in the pan-nasty!

We missed our train by a minute last night and had 30 minutes until the next one…so we went into the Kings Arms.
The landlady said we had 10 minutes to finish our drinks which was fine as it was blinking freezing outside!
2 beers on offer. Fullers London Pride and Hobgoblin…I had the Hob and it was alright…not that great but drinkable.
No-one else in this large pub so I cannot comment on the clientele.
I would use this pub if I had to wait for a train again…not the best pub but it seemed okay

£3.80 for a very average pint, no thanks

Is this place still closed at the weekend?

Paid a brief visit here yesterday evening. I doubt it's one I'll be going back to. London Pride was the only real ale available, as they had run out of Landlord. The large central bar was covered in empty glasses and service was a little slow, despite there not being too many people in the pub. Couldn't really see anything to recommend it, apart from the fact it was right next to the station.

this pub has been managed and owned by the same person for the last 25 years so they must be doing something right the food is excellent as is the service, hospitallity and beer i would definatly go back.

This afternoon I actually got of my train to have a pint in here as I had not been before and after thirteen (yes thirteen) minutes I hadnt managed to get served so I left and got on the next train to Kew.
Landlord, Pride and Rosey Nosey were available along with some standard lager. I found the barmaid to be quite flustered serving a work party and the manageress was more interested sorting out food orders. A proper barman/maid would have had no problem with the amount of customers, but this outfit seem to fall short of my required standards which are very easy to attain. Its unfortunate as the pub isnt that bad inside and there is a pool table and also a dartboard case on the wall, but no oche so Im not sure if there is a dartboard actually in there.
This could be a great pub with some TLC and proper management.

As a London Pride fan, I always seek out pubs that sell this excellent beer. This pub is around the corner from my office and is ok. Beer is well kept and they're not overly expensive. Some of the local residents can make you feel a little unwelcome. Worth a visit

What this pub lacks in ambience it more than makes up for by the way it looks after its' guests and keeps its' ale. My parents often stay at the pub when they're in Brentford visiting us, the staff look after them like their own family and the accomodation is clean and very good value (currently 60 per night for a double room including cooked breakfast - difficult to find elsewhere in West London). Beer wise, Fullers London Pride and Timothy Taylors Landlord are the staples. Very well kept, I think amongst the best in Brentford (and I've tried most of 'em). Extremely convenient for the Railway Station, so busy during evening commuter hours, but otherwise underused.

Dirty, Chavvy....BIG TIME. Simply not a nice place to go
|
Like so many pubs, so much potential gone to waste. Its close to the A4 and Brentford mainline station. Looks unappealing from outside, marginally better inside. The Globe has more appeal, as does the Magpie & Crown
|
Perfect place to go for an early night. It shuts at 6.30pm on a Saturday!
My advice? There's plenty of decent pubs in the Brentford area who will welcome you and appreciate your custom.
Don't bother with this one.

I stayed here a few weeks ago and I found:
- professional staff - a reasonable pint of London Pride - a mixed and lively but relaxed crowd - the best egg and chips I've had for years - a clean and comfortable room for sixty pounds - a good breakfast
If you are working in the area it's a fine choice.

A new music venue in Brentford with an emphasis on blues/rock. Well worth a visit on a Friday night, and the beer's not bad either. London Pride for 2.40 a pint is very reasonable for this area. Don't ignore this up and coming boozer.

Geoff Hamer writes "there's no excuse for going in this pub" and I can quite see why. I was only there because I was waiting for someone to get off a train. Shame really because it's not badly placed and the beer was OK. Bright lights and deadpan, if not actually rude, service. Noisy customers, probably from the offices nearby. After one, we adjourned sharpish to Di's Lord Nelson up the road.

The trains now run every 15 minutes, so there's no excuse for going in this pub. The trains are much less frequent on Sundays, of course, but the pub doesn't even bother to open then.
|
Has one thing going for it - it's next to Brentford station where the trains are always delayed. Otherwise well worth avoiding.
