When you see Pub & Dining on the outside of the place one should instantly know that you are NOT about to enter a pub. A place where drinkers are ignored... to the extent that I couldn't be arsed waiting any longer and left for better pastures.

London Pride was the only Real Ales I see on tap when I went in here. It seemed to lack that real Pub feel It used too have many years ago & The staff seem very Offish. Long gone are the dart board Pool Table and TVs and the Two bars. Now its just one large soulless room Seems too much food orientated for me and it makes it feel like your drinking in a licenced restaurant or hotel bar. I had one Pint and left as it was full of Kids running around screeching making it feel like a Play School.
I went down too the The Osidge Arms instead and found it much more welcoming Pub

This is a family orientated gastro pub with very friendly staff and a nice beer garden.

Pride, Summer Lightening and Adnams were all available alongside standard and premium lagers. Unfortunately my Pride was on the turn, but the Adnams was very nice.

I wouldnt return here just for a beer, but Im sure that Ill take the family up for a meal at some point in the future.

Lovely pub, we went with another family on a Sunday, and spent the afternoon in their lovely garden. The food was excellent, gastro-pub style (French chef) & reasonable (there was a childrens menu too), helpful, friendly staff (no request was too small) who even brought out a selection of garden games for us. We will definitely be returning soon, as we had a relaxing afternoon that we all enjoyed, while the children entertained themselves brilliantly. As it was sunny we only ventured inside for the loo, but it looked very nice and stylish in there too..

We came here this afternoon to check out the possibility of booking this pub for our wedding reception. We were overwhelmed. The pub is wonderful! The decor is tasteful and classy without being too 'poncey'. The beer is very well kept (currently Black Sheep/London Pride) and the managers (Sarah and Andrew) are helpful and very friendly. We stayed for lunch while pondering, and had a great three course meal for a very reasonable price. The Cavalier manages to be a good pub with great food without crossing the line into being a gastro pub. We came for a rekky, and stayed for 5 hours, and have booked the reception! I cannot say enough great things about this pub; it is a little gem, and we will be back here to drink before long.

New owners since end of 2007. Menu features inspired dishes. Lots of comfy chairs for lounging. Great venue for outside party.

I Was in here with a few Friends a week or so ago Its much better than it was before. Now its more female friendly without all the Yobs and Football fanatics now all the TVs been removed a Much better atmosphere as well. Also theres more choice of Wines and Real Ales n Its not just Lager.
Only bad point I found is theres no proper Tables or Chairs except in restaurant part It seems to be all those very low sofas and bean bags seats with extremely low Tables how is a party of Girls in there 50s supposed to sit on those come on get some real pub tables thats the only criticism I can find other wise a much improved Pub.

Visited last night and really liked it. The owners have created a really interesting, imaginative interior with lots of comfortable seating and really nice subdued lighting. The restaurant at the back was very busy and the service was excellent. My wife particularly enjoyed her Pimm's and lemonade, which was served mixed with strawberry, cucumber, orange, lemon and ice. Overall, a really good pub, well worth a visit.

went in with the wife for a few pints last week this Pub seems Much better than it was last time I went in there over a year ago. It now has NO more TVs blasting away in the background or yobs watching football & playing Pool. Seems to have a much better atmosphere now and is more family friendly and the beer has improved no end. I don't know about food as I did not eat there but looked good.

Since being redone, this pub is truely a pleasure to spend an evening in. The food is delicious and a very reasonable price indeed and the staff are friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend you make a visit if you have't been here in a while as it is a totally different place to what it used to be.
The decor is very tasteful and it is really a lovely environment to have a quiet drink or a romantic meal. Highly recommended!!

WOW WOW WOW WOW what can i say absolutely amazing!! Recently reopened as a privately owned bar and restaurant(sept 07) serving fresh and home made food!
The food is just unbelievable!!!

They cater for families, big groups, small groups and the service is fantastic.

Roast dinner on a sunday is delicious with two options of meat and great value for money!

The interior is great and welcoming and no longer stinks like old men.

Staff are brilliant and friendly.

I would advise you all to go and check it out.

Ladies, its great no more burly men at the bar leering at you!!

I had heard that this pub had changed in the last few months but was amazed by how much. This is now a lovely pub to go and have some quality food and/or a leisurely drink. I had the fish platter which was really good, exceptional value and big enough to share. It also has a very big garden, so I can imagine will be great in the summer.

Quite a large pub with a car park and little competition in the immediate area. Food is of moderate quality. Can get quite busy when there is football on. Better off heading into North Finchley if u want a drink around here.

I'm dissapointed that this pub does not cater for families. Children under 14 not allowed in the bar. The locality is desperately crying out for a pub where children could be allowed.
