Previous comment here pretty unhelpful really as it's now a totally different place. As per previous postings it's called Purple Rain and has joined the ranks of the numerous Indian Bar Restaurants in North Finchley.
It's got a pleasant atmosphere and serves a reasonable variety of beers. Personally I didn't fancy eating there as I felt it had more of a bar feel than restaurant, however subsequently I noticed that there's a quiet lower area that looked fine to eat in.

this place used to be rammed years ago then went completely downhill. Went in there once and it was dirty and depressing, no idea what it is like now guess it wont be long before it changes again

was in there last weekend. crowd are the young smart asian professional sector.
its nicely done up inside and has a good range of beers (although the pint of lager i had was a bit dodgy).
not as expensive as it looks from outside. friendly staff and doormen.
nice addittion to finchley.

its called purple rain, been in a couple of times, do a good line in beers and cobra on tap !
They have also got a good food menu and a entertainment licence.

apparantly its being done up. lets hope its not as big a hole as it was before

This pub is now closed. A sign on the outside says the freehold has been sold. No clues as to whether it will continue as a pub

awful, minging, cheap and tacky. for kids, alcoholics and those with fighting spirit. the sooner its shut down and revamped, the better.

really for the young only. loud and frenzied. they love it. security on the door is good.

Local gossip suggests that if the Cherry Tree has any more trouble with fighting it may be closed down. This would be a pity for people who enjoy pool but not fighting, as it has a good number of pool tables. Hope they manage to turn the place round!
