After an evening in the city centre, I should have returned my murky pint of Wye Valley Bitter on Saturday night but I was deceived by the decent white head and the normal taste (and I didn't want to stick out in a pub full of locals when the service had been friendly). HPA and Butty Bach were also on sale.

Not bad at all. Seems a popular place. Wye Valley Butty Bach on when I visited.

They also do a "fish n chips" take-a-way service.
Food here is pretty good with a menu that includes affordable and more pricey items.

New landlord & lady. Open every day and serves food every day too. 3 local ales to chose from. Beer garden and car park. Situated just off the main road through the village. All-in-all an average village pub, but worth going to if passing through the area and wanting a quick meal or drink.

Good beer quality assured due to frequent "testing" by the landlord.

Great little pub with eccentric lanlord and friendly barmaid. The garden is lovely in summer, and in winter the big fire is welcoming. Good ale, and the food is superb. We always just eat from the sandwich menu, recommend the BLT in Ciabatta. Also has a wide selection of mains, so you can choose the 'restaurant' experience too.

I remember getting served here in my school uniform when at St Marys...nice!

Located 3ml from the City centre, this samll pub has a true country feel, the small bar adding to the feeling of intimacy. Regular jazz evenings, and a nice garden. Butcombe Bitter and Taylor Landlord usually of a reasonable standard.
